The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time feature

The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time PC Port, Open Ocarina, now supports 60fps

Last month, we informed you about the first unofficial PC port of The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time, called Open Ocarina. And today, we are happy to report that this port has an experimental mode that allows the game to run at 60fps.

As Blake told us, the code for running the game at 60fps is available in the dev branch for anyone to compile and play with. This mode will remain in this experimental mode for 2-3 weeks, and then will be added to the main branch.

As we’ve already said, both Open Ocarina and The Ship of Harkinian do not feature any game assets. As such, Nintendo cannot shut them down. Players will have to use Visual Studio 2019+ in order to create an executable build. Additionally, they must own the game, and create a ROM so that they can use its assets.

From what we know so far, The Ship of Harkinian does not feature a 60fps mode. Therefore, Open Ocarina is the only PC port that supports 60fps (at least for now).

You can download its dev branch from here. Below you can also find a video that showcases the game running at 60fps!
