The Matrix Awakens Unreal Engine 5 Megacity Demo

Someone is selling the free Unreal Engine 5 The Matrix Awakens Demo on Steam

Do you remember that cool Unreal Engine 5 The Matrix Awakens Megacity Demo? You know, the one you can get for free on the Epic Marketplace. Well, guess what? There’s someone trying to sell it on Steam.

Titled “Matrix World“, this is simply a packaged version of the Megacity Tech Demo and nothing more. This is a scam and since we know that some folks from Epic Games read us, we wanted to raise awareness. So, hopefully, Epic will work with Valve in order to take it down.

According to Steam, the “publisher” of this “game” is Netlex Studio. It’s not Netflix, it’s Netlex. Netlex was also behind some other small projects that used earlier versions of Unreal Engine. So yeah, don’t expect much from it.

Again, this is a scam and you should stay away from it. If I remember correctly, someone tried to sell a version of Megacity in which you could control Superman. This “Superman game” was based on a free UE5 demo that was also released for free to everyone.

Talking about Unreal Engine 5, we recommend trying out these other free fan-made demos. After all, we here at DSOGaming have shared numerous of them. You can grab a Superman UE5 Demo, a Halo 3: ODST Remake, and a Spider-Man UE5 Demo. There’s also a fan-made version of STALKER in Unreal Engine 5. If you love old-school FPS games, you should check out this remake of the classic FPS Blood in Epic’s engine. Don’t also forget the remake of Halo: Combat Evolved’s Halo level in UE5. Lastly, we have The Lord of the Rings: Conquest Reimagined in Unreal Engine 5 and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time in UE 5.3.1. They all look awesome, so be sure to give them a try.

Stay tuned for more!

    1. Nope, they also used Epic Games as a “developer” for their other games small-budget games (and we know that Epic didn’t develop them). It’s the definition of a scam.

  1. “we know that some folks from Epic Games read us”
sorry John but I think someone lied to you. DSOG is awesome but it’s barely on any radar. You’re not radical enough for that. you need to write more cultural marxist, subverting, anti-white male and feminist garbage hit pieces to get on any radar

  2. we know that some folks from Epic Games read us

I guess they need to monitor if you’re meeting the weekly quota of Unreal Engine 5 adverts, sorry, articles. /s

    1. THIS COMMENT NEEDS TO BE SPOTLIGHTED!

Man o’ man, thank you for this. Dude straight blew his cover. But we already knew this all along. This man knows the ins and the outs. Smh

      1. If it helps pay the bills so to ensure DSOG’s continued existence then I don’t particularly care, tbh. It’s small potatoes relative to the shenanigans of the big name legacy media gaming sites. I was just yanking John’s chain for the lulz.

  3. $20, they should have made it way cheaper probably would have lasted a day or two longer lol

  4. Thanks a bunch. I wanted to download this and it has now been removed. The original is longer available via Unreal Engine, it was a limited time download. You would know that if you bothered to click your own links before posting them. Thanks to go-gooders like you, the only trustworthy(ish) source of this demo has now been removed. Now the only way to get it is through malware infested sites. Keep up the good work kill joy….
