Remedy is working on the next game set in the Alan Wake/Control universe

Remedy has confirmed that all of its games are taking place in the same universe. Moreover, the team announced that it’s already working on its next triple-A game that will be set in the Alan Wake/Control universe.

As Remedy stated:

“For over 10 years, we’ve had a crazy dream. The idea that the tales told in some of our games would be connected to each other; a connected world of stories and events with shared characters and lore. Each game is a stand-alone experience. However, each game is also a doorway into a larger universe with exciting opportunities for crossover events.”

Remedy then claimed that it’s already “hard at work on a future Remedy game that also takes place in this same universe.”

My guess is that this new Remedy game will be using the Northlight Engine. We can also assume that it will target next-gen platforms, and that it will use Ray Tracing.

Unfortunately, we don’t know when Remedy will officially unveil its next game. Again, we can assume that this will happen after the release of all the DLC packs for Control.

This new Remedy game could be “BigFish” we reported back in May 2020. If that’s the case, this new game will be coming exclusively on PC via Epic Games Store.

Stay tuned for more!

        1. I am personally more into AW than QB. at least, AW had the atmosphere and a good story. the ‘cinematic’ presentation of Qb put me off to be honest. it broke the immersion. it felt like Sam Lake wanted to make a movie but was not given the opportunity. but I think I understand why you prefer QB to AW

        2. lol. what you liked the most, the god awful shooting mechanics or the scripted to death cutscene heavy, barely any gameplay?

      1. Wellllllllll…….. Their last 2 games can be iffy. I cant deny it. Quantum break had some fun and interesting moments but yea. Alan Wake, Max Payne and Control are the top ones for me. Control also had some questionable parts but i still liked it quite a bit.

Also their music was pretty cool. They sure know how to add music to the games.

          1. Alan Wake had cool vibe and story/vision, the gameplay felt a bit meh but still a really cool and interesting game. Their only games i 100% enjoyed were Max Payne 1 and 2. After that its either cool visuals, music, lore or some gimmick. Its never a full package, but still worth checking out imo. Id never miss a Remedy game, reminds me of Relic, but DoW 3 was such a huge fail…

Every company i ever loved is failing me in some way nowadays. Yes, even BLizzard.

    1. after almost 10 hours of Control, I finally gave up. there was nothing appealing about the game. the story was pretentious and uninteresting, the animations felt like leftover work from Quantum Break, the protagonist was bland, and the gunplay was anything but satisfying. but that’s me. I’m sure there are others who have found the game fun and interesting.

      1. Its also my least favorite games that they made, but i still had fun with it. I cant call it a 10/10 game but yeah, i can see why you think that way. Me as a fan, also had those thoughts here and there (especially about the bland character, which is odd.. they usually have pretty good ones)

    1. Who cares?

Max Payne is a relic of the early 00s. It wasn’t the amazing game people want it to be. We just didn’t know better. Well actually we did, like in Max Payne 2 where you have a locked door to a room that has its other 3 walls completely demolished. Or the god awful baby blood platforming in the first game.

        1. Cool story you pathetic, strawmanning incel.

I owned and played Max Payne before you could even afford a computer. I never said it was a bad game. It was good at the time. It just wasn’t the masterpiece kids like you pretend it was.

It does, though, have some of the worst level design in the history of gaming,

          1. i am probably older than you moron.

Also compared to modern games and quantum break it was a mastepiece.

“It does, though, have some of the worst level design in the history of gaming,”

compared to max payne 3 that there i no room to shootdodge, id say the design is top notch.

  1. Given the surprising fast development of Control (only 3 years between it and Quantum Break), vs their usual 6 years after Alan Wake, 7 years after Max Payne 2 …

I guess with an existing engine they will reveal their next game in … 2021 or 2022 with a release in 2022.

    1. There’;s no way Microsoft didn’t repeatedly ask them to make Alan Wake 2. It’s probably the fourth most beloved Microsoft exclusive in history after Halo, Forza, and Gears.

  2. remedy better make a universe in which it’s games run optimized and well for god’s sake.every damned game they create simply looks average and runs like sh*t on pc.

      1. same, still cant get it to run anywhere near acceptable after days of attempts. intro scene on the campus runs at 35fps…on a damn 2080 xc ultra

        1. Yeah, not clue what’s going on in that game graphics wise. Wish they would port it to the new version of the engine they used on Control. It ran and looked so much better.

          1. What about my and many other gamers experiences then?you and i are not gonna accept each others sayings as a result of seemimgly different experiences.maybe your definition of optimization is look average run like sh*t on high end pc. one thing i am sure of,remedy sucks big time in optimizing it’s games. no more to say.

      1. You don’t knowmy pc, so don’t tell me to upgrade or lower settings. you can support them and spread lies but their games suck. quantum break is a prime example.

    1. Yeah cause you know how much we Blacks love Queermo’s <—— Sarcasm. Yes those white boys love to virtue signal by using black people, to other white people about $hit that black people don't care about. The only thing that needs Defunding is White Liberals. All they do with their money is cause trouble by walking to VIRTUE, on the backs of minorities.

  3. I wont buy another game from them if they stick with the one difficulty fits all BS like in Control.

  4. No one cares.

    A) It isn’t Alan Wake 2.
    B) It’s Epic exclusive.
    C) They sold their soul to Epic and are owned by Epic too.

  5. They didn’t sell their soul. You guys must read about things more before comment. It’s a small company. They don’t have the bugdet of Rockstar or other big company.Haters.

  6. Remedy can suck dagoats Dihk!, With their epic exclusives. Why would/should give a flying f*k about anything they have to release when it will be exclusive to one store. No GOG, NO buy! High see’s Matey.

  7. I want them making Maxine Payne,a strong independent wahmen detective. I’m sure it will sell millions and get critical acclaim…

  8. bit of hypocrites in comment section i mean they had np praising studio when they are exclusive with Microsoft last two games, alan wake & quantum break both never even saw light to playstation console.. yet people are ready to bash em because they made similar deal with epic games…… & still releasing on every other platform.. imbeciles ?

    1. And they aren’t using DRM so those who can’t stand the idea of Epic can just pirate it if they want.

      1. yes it is they are in deal to make two games thats it. remedy has full rights to games or ip’s they make during this period.
