Nvidia recently announced its Ampere lineup of Flagship GPUs, the RTX 3090, 3080 and 3070. The RTX 3080 Founders Edition/FE model will launch on 17th of September for $699 USD. The RTX 3090 FE card on the other hand will launch on the 24th of September for $1499 USD, and lastly the GeForce RTX 3070 is planned for launch in October for a price of $499 USD.
However custom AIB models will have a slightly different price tag, depending on the GPU model, PCB quality, and design (PCB cooling). Now, one PC enthusiast from China, @davideneco25320, has posted a close-up picture of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Founders Edition graphics cards. All three flagship GPUs, the RTX 3090, 3080 and 3070 have been photographed in one single shot.
https://twitter.com/davideneco25320/status/1303379828016582658
All cards use the 12-pin Molex MicroFit 3.0 power connector. From the picture posted we can clearly see that the RTX 3090 is a massive and bulky GPU, having a 3-slot design. We also have the first photograph showing the RTX 3070 model in flesh, and unlike the RTX 3080 and RTX 3090, the RTX 3070 FE uses a more conventional approach to air-flow.
The RTX 3070 is the smallest of these three GPUs. The following are the dimensions of these FE cards:
- RTX 3090: 13.8 cm (W) x 31.3 cm (L), 3-slot
- RTX 3080; 11.cm (W) x 28.5 cm (L), 2-slot
- RTX 3070: 11.2 cm (W) x 24.2 cm (L), 2-slot
On some other news, we have a price listing of some of the custom AIB RTX 3090 and 3080 GPUs as posted on the German e-tailer website Caseking.de, and spotted by @momomo_us.
https://www.caseking.de/en/search?sSearch=rtx+3080
https://www.caseking.de/en/search?sSearch=RTX+3090
As you can see from the listing, the RTX 3090’s starting price of $1499 USD appears to be less, since some of the higher end custom RTX 3090 cards can be as high as 1,788€, including taxes, which converts to roughly $2,102 USD. The cheapest custom RTX 3090 has a price tag of 1,577€ including taxes, which converts to roughly $1,855 USD. It appears that the RTX 3090 is on average 50% pricier than the previous gen RTX 2080 Ti custom Turing GPU.
Prices of the custom-design RTX 3080, on the other hand, are not too aggressive, but still on a higher side. The cheapest custom-design RTX 3080 can be had for around 740€ including taxes, which converts to roughly $870 USD, and the pricier one goes for 804€ including taxes, which amounts to $950 USD.
So yeah, some of the custom AIB SKUs are surely going to be expensive than Founders Edition cards.

Hello, my name is NICK Richardson. I’m an avid PC and tech fan since the good old days of RIVA TNT2, and 3DFX interactive “Voodoo” gaming cards. I love playing mostly First-person shooters, and I’m a die-hard fan of this FPS genre, since the good ‘old Doom and Wolfenstein days.
MUSIC has always been my passion/roots, but I started gaming “casually” when I was young on Nvidia’s GeForce3 series of cards. I’m by no means an avid or a hardcore gamer though, but I just love stuff related to the PC, Games, and technology in general. I’ve been involved with many indie Metal bands worldwide, and have helped them promote their albums in record labels. I’m a very broad-minded down to earth guy. MUSIC is my inner expression, and soul.

Damn 🙁 … the 3080 better stay reasonable. I really wish AMD would fully paper launch their RDNA2 sku’s this week in hope it will keep some of these prices in check or even let some of us skip these cards all together if they are better. Honestly AMD is insane to not paper launch this week, I just don’t get it.
I love to hear some theories as to why AMD won’t paper launch this week, heck I would fire their whole GPU marketing team for not doing it. Are they really not doing a paper launch because their cards can’t compete, what is it? Why else would you not steal some sales and show your cards now, I just don’t get it 🙁 . Is it driving anyone else insane as to why?
Side note: Control is now on GOG for those that where waiting.
Nope, I’m very glad that AMD is not launching their GPUs to compete with nvidia, “In Order to To Bring Nvidia’s prices down”. Just think about that homie. If you still wanna support nvidia after their price gouging because they have “no competition” (according to people that’s gonna buy nvidia anyways). Amd isn’t here to help people pay cheaper prices for nvidia. Instead of buying the more reasonable brand that has better price per performance, everyone stay riding Nvidia’s Nootz hoping that AMD will compete and get them 50 dollars off of nvidia. Don’t you think AMd knows this? they know you’re not gonna buy AMD anyways. But someone like me, will always buy AMD, because i sure as hell ain’t gonna buy Nvidia. I left Nvidia years ago because i don’t see any reason to spend 200 dollars more just for 5% more performance. That is R3tarded!!! Nvidia could have the fastest card in the world I STILL AIN’t buying their products and this has nothing to do with Fanboyism, I just can;t bring myself t9o support those jokers after all the $hit they pull all over the years and i feel the same way about UBISOFT!!!

I get what your saying, respect. The thing is I actually believe AMD + RDNA2 can compete with Nvidia so I don’t understand why they don’t try to compete this round like they did with Intel. Personally I think they are missing out on a lot of flipped sales, especially since they will most likely baseline at 16GB and in the 20 TF range.
I doubt they can touch the 3090 but I can easily see them have a 24 TF 16GB card that will be the same price as the 3070 which could do massive damage. If the XBSX APU is 12 TF they should easily be able to have a desktop part that is double that. I mean a 5700 XT is around 10 TF so at the very least they should hit 20 TF with RDNA2.
Well I guess We will see what happens in October or in the next few weeks, I am sure you will get a really solid card.
AMD & Nvidia actually communicates with each other, despite what people may thing. Like i said they know that if they throw their cards on the market at the same time they’ll be the ones taking a 50 dollar lost on their products. You have all valid points, which is a joy to read your stuff. But the only people taking sides are the consumers. AMD & Nvidia when it comes to price wars they can’t and won’t get into it because they simply offer different products. I wish people would understand that. But the only way to understand that fact is to actually own both manufactures like i do.
As of now AMDs adrenaline Suite is far more superior than anything nvidia has to offer. Nvidia’s leg up is that god awful gameworks that they convince developers to stuff in their games that ends up making everyone’s performance horrid. I see AMD started to go that route with fidelity but not quite cause like always AMD’s tech in open source. Nvidia on the other hand is only viable cause of the gameworks jun k they provide, this way devs don’t have to spend time making their own suites, they just use nvidia’s junk.
If it wasn’t for Gameworks and nvidia throwing tessellation x64 down every game they sponsors throat i would have no issues with nvidia. But even when i owned Nvidia cards i was annoyed by Gameworks because it’s not needed.Just look at Devil may cry 5, it’s not using any of that junk and the hair, tessellation, foliage and lighting is just amazing. Anyways, like i was saying AMD knows that if they compete it will just drive nvidia’s pricing down and people will buy nvidia ANYWAYS. The 5000 series cards have paid off very well for them and they are some of the best cards they’ve ever created, especially with sapphire at the helm. I have a heavily modified Vega 64 that’s actually a pro card that they gave me in an RMA, i will be resting that card and picking up a 6000 series once sapphire released their after market versions.
Another reason why i don’t want AMD to play nvidia’s game is because i don’t wanna see 3-5 different versions of the same card over a 6 month period from AMD. When you early adopt an Nvidia card you feel like you’ve been talking for a ride. When you buy an AMD card you don’t have to sit there worrying about a TI version that’s gonna make you look & feel like an idiot/Suckaaa. The competition is to provide something completely different. It;s like buying a Rolls royce Vs am Austin Martin, Both prestige but one of them is more your style. Well that’s my weird way of looking at it anyways.
its not just dif products. They are not. They both drive the same games. FPS is king, not considering propriety tech like gameworks or tressfx, be it for boosting into higher res or future proof, sadly amd cant compete there.
TressFX a.k.a Pure Hair murders gameworks, what are you talking about. Hairworks can’t touch pure hair especially in optimization.
I always buy what is best price/perf. I don’t give a sh*t about brands, however, next upgrade I would like (would being the word) to go with the AMD because I like open source approach more and more as I grow older.
Well, AMD is announcing their ‘BIG NAVI’ GPUs on October 28th, so…
I will buy RTX 3080. ?
I hope it blows up as soon as you boot up the Epic Store

Pahhahahaahahahha
I will wait to see what AMD has to offer.
Germany is a horrible country.
And USA is great ? ahahahahahahahahahaahha
I don’t like U.S , but it is certainly much better than G*rmany.
You are a clown.
