Ubisoft has announced that Far Cry 6 will be free to play this weekend. From August 4th until August 7th, PC gamers will be able to download and play this latest Far Cry game.
In Far Cry 6, players are immersed in the adrenaline-filled, chaotic world of a modern-day guerrilla revolution. The game takes place in Yara; a tropical paradise frozen in time. As dictator of Yara, Anton Castillo is intent on restoring his nation back to its former glory by any means, with his son, Diego, following in his bloody footsteps.
Players will assume the role of Dani Rojas; a local Yaran who will become a guerrilla fighter in order to liberate the nation. Players will jump into the action and chaos of guerrilla combat at the heart of a revolution. Additionally, players will employ an arsenal of unique and surprising new weapons, vehicles, and animal companions in a fight against an unyielding military regime.
The game supports Ray Tracing reflections and shadows, as well as AMD FSR. Unfortunately, though, it also suffers from major CPU optimization issues. There are also some awful stuttering issues.
But anyway, you will be able to play this game for free this weekend, so that’s at least something!

So where should we get them? on GoG? Many games are not available on GoG store, so eventually consumers will go to either Epic or Steam.
You could see if the devs sell the game directly if you want, and there’s also piracy. Epic is for free games, and Steam and GoG should be used as a last resort.

Anyway, I agree with you in your first para, I was talking about general consumer who actually would buy anything without much using thier heads(for example Stray is popular becuause its a cat game and people like cats so lets get it). I completely stopped myself to buy anything at these stores becuase they didn’t fulfil my requirements so why would I buy anything, however I only keep my eyes on Humble Bundles for some good deals but I noticed that those are also getting very uesless/low level garbage games bundles which are not interesting.

FC2 was cool, but not the best at all. It had certain issues that were just really dumb that FC3 thankfully fixed. FC3 was probably the best over all. Although I did like 5 quite a bit, despite it’s own annoying “features.”
FC4 is my favourite. The story was certainly worse than FC3, but it was basically the same game but with much more stuff and gameplay refinements. I had so much fun playing FC4 the year it came out + early 2015, I rated it my game of the decade just for that.
Really? I personally was completely turned off by the instantly respawning enemies at checkpoints so I stopped playing about 3 hours in. It’s been well over a decade since then, so maybe I’ll give it another chance somewhere down the line.

I played it cuz Far Cry is probably the last Western AAA franchise that I stanned. The core shooting mechanics (+ having a lot of gameplay options) are as solid as ever and the base takeover gameplay loop I still find to be a lot of fun. If Ubi’s reported future plan of turning the franchise completely into a live service holds true then I’ll be out for good.
