Burnout Paradise Remastered is coming to the PC after the console release

Electronic Arts has announced a remastered version of Burnout Paradise. Burnout Paradise Remastered will be coming to consoles on March 16th and the PC version will come to Origin later in 2018, bringing the Big Surf Island add-on to PC players for the very first time.

Burnout Paradise Remastered includes the original base game and the eight add-on game packs released during the Year of Paradise, including the extension to the drivable world with Big Surf Island. Burnout Paradise Remastered also features a range of technical enhancements for greater visual fidelity, including high resolution textures for players to explore Paradise City in 4K.

Matt Webster, General Manager at Criterion Games, said:

“When people think of Criterion Games, they often remember the Burnout franchise and for good reason. What we created 10 years ago, we feel is still fun and unique to this day in the gaming industry. Burnout Paradise is an arcade racer built to provide players the thrill of racing with their friends, in a free form way that was both seamless and immersive, but also a little crazy with all the different stunts and crashes players could pull off. With the release of this remaster, we’re able to share this action-packed ride with a whole new generation of players.”

Enjoy!

      1. I love Paradise, but I’d wish I could play Burnout Takedown and Revenge on PC as well (have a copy Revenge for my original Xbox that’s also modded :P).

Straight ports would suffice for me, I love those games. :3

  1. How about patching the game thats already on Steam that doesnt work? It hasnt worked for years. Apparently its the same with the Origin version too.

      1. Well, thats great; however, a quick google search or a look on the Steam community page for this game might give you an idea of how many people it doesn’t work for.

Personally I think its a disgraceful move for them to announce a remaster when they couldn’t be bothered to fix the problems that effect a large portion of the people that bought their game. Like it not working at all for most of them.

        1. Of course I am, im a gamer. The game didnt work before windows 10 though so im not sure where you’re trying to go with that.

It didn’t work for a great many of the people that bought the game on whatever OS it was developed for or sold for on Steam, including Windows 10 which it is still sold for right now.

          1. “Of course I am, im a gamer.”

Is a gamer. Doesn’t use Windows 10. Won’t use it next year, or the year after that, either. When do I stop qualifying as a “gamer”?

          2. You never qualified as one. Grow up. There’s no reason not to be using Windows 10 especially with Spectre/Meltdown issues now and wannacry last year.

          3. “You never qualified as one. Grow up.”

Look who’s talking. In fact, you might want to seriously consider taking your own advice there.

“There’s no reason not to be using Windows 10”

Right, except for the standing privacy violations, the disgustingly over-bloated Start Menu, the moronic changes to Windows Explorer, the disgusting advertisements they constantly push, and the hideous aesthetics, that it employs…… Oh, wait >.>

          4. All valid reasons, I dont particularly like a lot of the things with Win10 either but some of the latest games require it.

          5. Thats about it, Microsoft exclusives.

Im too accustomed to Win10 to want to go back to Win7, and I cant stand Win8. I tried going back to 7 and for some reason I couldnt help but miss Win10; it seems faster, it updates without problems and it runs all the latest Win10 games, even if (IMO) they havent been that great so far.

There are some real bellend apps/features that are forced on you though, these features can be uninstalled, some via add/remove programs and some that require tricks that MS dont want you to know how to get rid of like XBOX live for example which I find embarrassing to have on my PC. But its even more annoying how they re-appear on your PC after every big Win10 update.

Other than that I cant really say iv been hindered by anything Win10 does. The ad usage data can be easily disabled as can Cortana and Bing, it even asks you during installation if you want those features on or not.

          6. Point to the part where I said a non win 10 user isnt a gamer. I have windows 10 so I can play all the latest games, because im a gamer…

            Case closed.

          7. It doesn’t work, thats not hard to understand. Google “Burnout Paradise PC doesn’t work” and you’ll maybe get an idea of what doesn’t work means as well as the extent of the problem.

    1. Mine works semi fine on Steam/Origin, but I had to consult PCG wiki to tweak the crap out of it to work with my 1440p G-sync monitor.

    2. Works just fine i just reinstalled the Origin version and took a screenie to show that we dont need some remastered cash grab. Fix your PC.

      1. Yep, you = everyone else.

There’s nothing wrong with any of my PCs, and id know too seeing as iv been an IT technician for the past 20 odd years…

        1. If you cant get this game to work on your system somethings wrong on your end. im sorry. i have three pcs here. a full amd system and two intel/nvidia rigs and all three play the game.

          1. I’m sure i have at one time. i have a pc in my living room, bed room and den. so i tend to install similar games in all three as well as keep all three in pristine condition. Honestly wtf is everyone’s problem anyway. I have enough pc gear around here to build a few more systems. Need me to test a phenom II PC? maybe a FX cpu with old 7970 gpu? old nvidia cards? maybe a intel Apu system? how many configs do i need to set up before we come to the conclusion that people simply fail at taking care of their PCs properly?

  2. With all the DLC ? and all unlocked ?
Because DLC cars are visible in the menu but they stopped the support for the PC version so there’s no way to unlock them anymore… it’s been years !

    1. I’m amazed this hasn’t happened yet with the amount of spam they get about this game on every official NFS video. One day they’ll work out it doesn’t mean “reboot”.

  3. If you buy this on PC, you are garbage. There’s no reason for this to exist. Burnout Paradise Ultimate Box is $5 and looks and works fine.

If you buy this anywhere, you’re garbage.

Not for the least of which reasons is the fact that Paradise sucks and there are 4 better Burnout games.

      1. Paradise is garbage. This is widely accepted. If you like Paradise, you aren’t a Burnout fan, so kindly keep to yourself.

Maybe take a look at how almost every single comment on this page says the exact same thing.

        Stfu, child.

        1. “Maybe take a look at how almost every single comment on this page says the exact same thing.”

Really? Because all I see is an endless slew of people mocking EA for making a cheap cash-in “remaster” and and then a couple of posts like yours b*tching about how they didn’t remaster their favourite game, instead of Paradise.

          So, yeah, “stfu, child.”

          1. Then you can’t read because mien isn’t the only comment mentioning that Paradise is trash compared to the other Burnout games.

          2. Oh, I see, we’re moving the goal posts now, are we?

“Maybe take a look at how almost every single comment on this page says the exact same thing.”

“Then you can’t read because mien isn’t the only comment mentioning that Paradise is trash compared to the other Burnout games.”

So, how many people are actually criticising Paradise as a “bad game” ultimately, compared to how many are just complaining about Paradise getting remastered instead of something else, compared to how many are just mocking EA for trying to cash in on a cheap remaster, compared to how many are just mocking EA in general, compared to how many are rolling their eyes at you, right alongside me, exactly?

Because while yours “isn’t the only comment mentioning that Paradise is trash” (something I never disputed, but whatever) I don’t think it’s “almost every single comment on this page” that says so either, so…..

            Try harder, next time, maybe?

Or you could just f*ck off, I guess?

  4. The only thing that’s changed, is the fact that PC will now have access to all the DLC. That and hopefully not having to tweak the game to get it to play nice. Apart from that, textures and the like look exactly the same.

    1. EA: ”No. I mean, you have to pay another $10 to unlock the 4K option and another $25 to play it on 60 fps. And to play with the DLC cars, you have to spend $5 for each of them. And the best is that, all of these will be for only a limited time before vanishing forever. Because Micro-transactions are the best method of employment.”
