Battlefield 2021 to be officially revealed soon, first initial details

Oskar Gabrielson, General Manager at DICE, shared the first details about Battlefield 2021/Battlefield 6. According to Gabrielson, the team will reveal this new Battlefield game soon.

Battlefield 6 will be of an epic scale with an all-out military warfare. The game will come with crazy, unexpected moments, game-changing destruction, massive battles, packed with more players and mayhem than ever before.

Criterion and DICE LA are currently working with DICE on this project. Furthermore, the DICE team in Gothenburg is making adjustments and improvements to its technology.

In addition, Gabrielson re-confirmed that Battlefield 6 will be available only on next-gen platforms.

These first small details fall in line with the recent rumors we shared a while back. As such, expect 128-player maps with major destruction effects.

My guess is that EA will reveal Battlefield 2021 in May 2021.

Stay tuned for more!

  1. “In addition, Gabrielson re-confirmed that Battlefield 6 will be available only on next-gen platforms.”

well the last 2 games had impressive graphics so lets see what the next gen trashboxes have.

    1. They were not all that impressive, BFV already looked dated when it came out and it cut back on a lot of stuff that was in BF1.

It’s not just about graphics, the more important thing is the powerful CPUs and vastly increased memory capacity and bandwidth, which will allow for much more complex physics and other things that affect gameplay.

  2. If it’s a cringe SJW fest like BFV reveal then I’m out. otherwise, this game may peak my interest.

      1. I got over 200hrs in BFV and enjoyed the crap out of it because I could care less that they had female avatars in the game. Only politically sensitive anti-SJW snowflakes were offended by BFV.

          1. “If you say that you couldn’t care less about someone or something, you are emphasizing that you are not interested in them or worried about them. You can also say that you could care less, with the same meaning.” -https://www.collinsdictionary.com/us/dictionary/english/couldnt-care-less#:~:text=or%20could%20care%20less,less%2C%20with%20the%20same%20meaning.

  3. i have no idea WTF is that picutre but its not battlefiled . this looks like just cause 0,5 alpha MP mode for tablets

    1. I’m pretty sure you saw the news story that involved that picture…it’s an unofficial artist mockup based on a drawing from the guy who leaked details about the launch trailer.

  4. Glad about only next-gen, it means us PC gamers will finally have a whole new engine for us and next gen consoles with the best experience we can have

Just hoping it will have cross gen platform so I get to play with my other friends

    1. I agree, I hate when they hold things back to cater to lowest tier.
They should always go all out like Crysis did back in the day, People can always go back and play it later when they finally upgrade.

      1. Crysis was considered a commercial failure by Crytek and EA.

You have absolutely no understanding about the gaming industry if you think it’s sustainable for anyone to make games that target a handful of people with high end specs.

I also find it upsetting that games are held back by older hardware, but at least I’ve got enough brains to understand that it’s a business and they want (and have to) sell to as big of an audience as they can, to recoup costs and make a hefty profit which will fuel growth and future games.

  5. * only on nextgen * means it won’t be held back. Well ***LESS*** held back. Wether you’ll like this game or not this will be good for PC players.

    1. You’re saying that the average gaming PC has the equivalent of an R7 3700X, NVME storage as default, and a GPU that trades blows with a 2070S-2080 ?

      1. You could perceive what i said the way you put it yes. In the end are we going to stop progress for the sake of consumers that can’t benefit it ?

        1. The point is that the new consoles are very comfortably beyond the average gaming PC, they certainly are not holding anything back now, nor for the next number of years, until average PC surpasses their specs. So this is certainly great for the minority of PC gamers with matching/better hardware.
People have a very skewed and mistaken idea about what sort of hardware the overwhelming majority of PC gamers have.

          1. Well yes the new consoles are nextgen aren’t they ? That’s what i thought anyways. The OP was about ps4/pro and xb1.

          2. There are no mentions of old consoles anywhere here so no clue what you’re talking about.

Every time a new generation comes out, it’s “next gen”, the previous gen was using outdated and weak hardware from day 1.

          3. Meaning, i was happy that it’s next-gen only and they’re excluding ps4(pro)/xb1 from development.

      1. BF3/4 were good games. Give the runner a chance instead of trying to kil ltye chicken while it’s in it’s egg no?

        1. Neither of those twitchy console focused shooters filled with microtransactions were good and I say this as the idiot who bought both BF3 and Premium at full price.
They’re not team games or Battlefields, they’re headless chicken matches where people try to grind for XP.

  6. BF4 had tablet elements in it, useless but they where there.

Hopefully they’ll bring back the commander mode and that will be the the mobile game.

  7. Gameplay-wise i’m quite positive it will blow our minds out as always. But on the other hand, i’m not sure i want to invest time on another multiplayer game which i know i will really like and will drag me away from my backlog even more.
