Doom feature v2

This Doom Mod Adds Fully Destructible Environments, and It Looks Insane

Now, here is something truly impressive. YouTube’s ‘tuin’ has shared a new version of Tuin-Doom-Enhanced, a customized Windows build based on Duct-Tape DOOM. This latest version of Tuin-Doom-Enhanced adds a Red Faction-like destruction system, allowing you to destroy walls and doors.

Going into more detail, Tuin-Doom-Enhanced adds full destruction to classic Doom. You can blast holes in walls, doors, floors, and ceilings. The game then uses these new holes for both looks and movement. Rockets and barrels can break apart surfaces. You can also use gunfire and other shots to chip away at them and make debris fly.

Damaged doors keep their holes as they move. You can also change how much damage you deal, how deep you dig, and how large each breach can be. And yes, you can walk through damaged doors.

The latest release also fixes several bugs. Plasma hits now work better, and homemade stairs and moving doors run more smoothly. It also fixes the edges of shallow craters, removes floating marks, and restores shootable glass. Small bits of broken surfaces no longer clip through the world.

The October 21 update also brings more performance improvements. The game now reuses crater data instead of doing the same work again. It also cuts the work needed to update damaged doors. Monster path searches now spread out over time, which can help the game run faster. The update also fixes glass hit checks and improves gun-hit effects on damaged surfaces.

All in all, this is a must-have mod for everyone who wants to replay the classic Doom games. If you are one of them, you can download it from here. Below, you can also find a couple of videos for it. These will give you a pretty good idea of what you can expect, so be sure to watch them.

As a bonus, I’ve included another video that showcases Doom 1 with 2D ragdoll physics. Right now, I don’t know when, and if, this mod will ever come out. I also don’t know whether or not it will be compatible with the other must-have mods for Classic Doom that I’ve covered. Still, it’s something unique, and I’m sure most Doom fans will find it cool.

If you are looking for other cool mods for Doom, I suggest getting Voxel Doom. Then we have Aliens Eradication TC, which is a must-have mod for all our Alien fans. Brutal Doom: Black Edition is a mod that attempts to bring Doom 3’s art style to the game. There’s also a cool Doom 64-inspired episode mod that you can download. Let’s also not forget the amazing Brutal Doom Mod. We also have Schism, which is a Doom/Hexen/Heretic mashup using Brutal Doom, as well as Bloom (a crossover between Blood and Doom).

Finally, if you own an RTX GPU, you should try Doom 2 Ray-Traced. Doom 2 Ray-Traced adds full path tracing effects to the game. You can also download Path Tracing Mods for Doom 64 and Brutal Doom. I’ve played both Doom 1 and Doom 2 with Path Tracing, and they are perhaps among the best experiences you’ll have. So, don’t skip them.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
