Modder ‘Revan’ has released a new pack for Starfield that brings to it 8K textures, overhauling almost all of its planets. As the modder noted, each texture was gone through some filters to make them look more “realistic“.
This 8K Texture Pack for Starfield is 1.6GB in size, and you can download it from here. At the end of the article, you can also find some screenshots that showcase the new upscaled textures.
Speaking of Starfield, Todd Howard claimed that Bethesda will release official modding tools for it in 2024. Similar to the Fallout 4 Creation Kit, the Starfield Creation Kit will allow you to create all sorts of mods. In theory, this will allow modders to create DLC-sized expansions for Bethesda’s latest title. And oh boy we can’t wait to see what modders have in store for us.
Lastly, we strongly suggest taking a look at these other mods for Starfield. For instance, this mod solves the game’s elevated black levels/washed-out graphics. You can also use this guide in order to increase your FOV. Then we have this AI-upscaled 4K Texture Pack. And let’s not forget the DLSS 2/XeSS and DLSS 3 Frame Generation mods. Lastly, earlier today, we shared the Sprinting Stuttering Fix Mod that addresses some stuttering issues that could occur in Starfield while running.
Enjoy the following screenshots that showcase the improved 8K textures for Starfield, and stay tuned for more!

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2. The mars one looks a bit distorted, but the res is better. The others are not really a noticeable improvement apart from the moon. Anyways, still early days and a lot of good mods are coming hard and fast for it. We have much to look forward to.
Keep it coming
I’m sure the usual clown will chime in and say there’s no need for 8k textures since no one has an 8k monitor…
This mess of a crap game is embarrassing to watch.

8K might be overkill, but the textures in the game leave a lot to wish for.
I found it strange that they didn’t pour more time into world building implementing better assets for rocks, boulders etc, and lastly planetary, crisp textures.
It’s not much you can do with jpeg planets vs starcitizen living moving gas giant that people see clouds moving and not only game does it.. starbourne 2 does it too
Just a note: Those 1.6 GB size mods are usually a lot bigger when you unpack them. So make sure you got space.
