A new mod for Red Dead Redemption 2 has been released, aiming to give new life to Van Horn, the game’s small forgotten port town. So, if you are currently replaying RDR2, I highly recommend giving it a go.
Going into more details, the Van Horn Expansion restores the previously broken docks. It also expands the port as it now features new ships, boathouses, rideable boats, dock workers, a fisherman, and a market stall.
At the northern edge of town, you will also find a ship graveyard. It has sunken ships, abandoned cargo, and debris from all around the region. Not only that, but you will find a church and a graveyard atop the hill overlooking Van Horn.
Van Horn’s Train Station has also received some attention. The station is now more crowded as it has more NPCs. You will also find wandering NPCs in the main strip. As such, the town will feel more alive than before.
The Van Horn Expansion also adds new businesses. You will find a new wagon fence. We also get a new merchant who sells fresh fruit. On the southern outskirts of the town, you will find a new dock house. There, you will find a fully functional boat fence.
All in all, this is a cool expansion mod for Van Horn. Best of all, it’s a free mod, meaning that you don’t have to pay for it. You can simply go ahead and download it from this link. Do note, though, that you’ll also need the !PNA.asi file from Project New Austin 1907 – Classic Color Scheme and RDR1 Locations. Otherwise, the mod will not work.
Speaking of RDR2, here are some other cool mods for it. First up is a mod that introduces a very cool New Game+ Mode. Another mod revamps the interior lighting of buildings. There’s also this mod that adds a Zelda Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom climbing system. For some extra fun, there’s a gameplay mod that allows the player to use NPC-exclusive scenarios. You can also download this mod that adds fully functional cars to the game. Last but not least, there’s a mod that brings support for DLSS Ultra Quality & DLAA to the game, and another mod that allows you to explore Nuevo Paraiso.
And that’s not all. D.R.O (DRAMATIC RAGDOLL OVERHAUL) is a mod that aims to overhaul the game’s physics. For VR gamers, we have this VR Mod that allows you to experience RDR2 in VR. Plus, you can download this mod, which adds some cool The Matrix-like bullet time effects.
