Modder ‘Somberx’ has released a new Star Wars Mod for Bethesda’s latest RPG, Starfield. As the title suggests, this mod brings to the game the Lightsabers from the Star Wars universe.
Going into more details, this mod replaces the UC Naval Cutlass with a Lightsaber-inspired design. According to Somberx, this is a simple first step in a larger project that will add new lightsaber designs based on the existing weapon manufactures.
Unfortunately, the mod does not feature the iconic Lightsaber sound. The modder claims that this would affect many other melee weapons. Thus, we can assume that we’ll get a better Lightsaber Mod when Bethesda releases the Starfield Creation Modding Kit.

Lightsabers are OK, but they’re only really cool if I can throw them at people.
They should have added lightsabers from five night at freddy’s universe instead.
I don’t know why the creation kit wasn’t included w the official release or shortly after, now like cp77 you’re going to get before offical support, redmod, and after official support mods. I’m guessing Beth wanted as much vanilla play as possible before modders almost make your own unique game possible though. But it makes a headache for modders. According to Nexus main page there are at least 3000 mods for SF already and by next year it will probably be 50k or more. I’ve extensively modded cp77 but there are 5 basic frameworks from before redmod which the majority of mods require, biggest being CET. Most of the current SF mods are just bats for console commands, luts and now they have an ASI etc I have no doubt this will be top 5 sometime there, of which 2 are skyrim versions, FO4, FNV and Oblivion. A modular spaceship sharing framework needs to be there as well imo instead of now having to just load their save w their custom ship if you want it. And they should have taken a que from cp77 modders and had modular character preset/looks too.
