Modder ‘deeppurple1968’ has released a new AI-enhanced HD Texture Pack for Half-Life 2. This pack upscales all of the game’s textures by four times using the neural network Topaz A.I. Gigapixel.
Moreover, this mod partially includes higher resolution upscaled files from Half Life 2 High Quality Texture Replacements, Garry’s Mod NPC Enhancements, HQ 2k Airboat texture, HL2 High-Quality Main Character Skin Pack and some leaked texture sources. All of these custom textures have been adjusted and are fully consistent with the original HL2 textures.
This HD Texture Pack for Half-Life 2 is 6.8GB in size, and you can download it from here. Below you can also find a video comparison between the original and the modded textures.
Speaking of Half Life 2, here are some other cool mods for it. For instance, here is a VR Mod that works wonderfully with it, and we highly recommend trying it. Entropy: Zero 2, a mod with a brand new campaign spanning seven chapters of content, is also available for download. You can also download a demo for a fan sequel to Opposing Force, Half-Life: Through The City. Finally, Half-Life 2 Path Tracing and Half-Life 2 Remastered are two highly anticipated mods that are currently in development. Oh, and let’s not forget Half Life 2 RTX Remix which NVIDIA revealed in August.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

no point, just wait for the RTX version
So we can all play Half Life 2 at 10 FPS? No thank you.
not my fault you have a pc from 2012
My PC has an AMD Ryzen 7 3800X, 64GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA RTX 3070 Ti. I think I built it in 2020, but I don’t remember.
This was on Gamebanana for more than a year
The difference is very small. It’s not worth downloading.
The game is still amazing and worth playing 🙂
AI enhanced textures are definitely worth the downloading when you have a big 4K monitor for example, as these very high resolutions expose the lack of detail of these 20 years old textures, they also worth the downloading because they keep the original art style as it is, making the game look almost as it looked back then on low res monitors
Is the modding world so uninspired to make John make stories about ai enhanced textures? Just today i saw Stalker Anomaly mod get a brand new update. Yeah, just standard lazyness from ol John.
