Electronic Arts has released the launch trailer of Dead Space 3. Dead Space 3 promises to send players on an exhilarating and hair-raising new adventure in the dead of winter 2013. After crash-landing on a hostile new planet known as Tau Volantis, hero Isaac Clarke discovers that this planet could be the key to ending the Necromorph infestation. Crytek held a Crysis 3 Community Day, in which Sean Tracy showcased some nice and new graphical features of CryEngine 3 – that will also be supported by the upcoming Crysis 3 game. Tracy started as a modder (he was in charge of the Mechwarrior: Living Legends mod for Crysis 1) and is now working in Crytek, proving that talented modders can really make a breakthrough. Benjamin Bardou has informed us about the following GTA IV Machinima short film that is inspired by the amazing – and classic – cyberpunk movie, Blade Runner. According to Benhamin, this movie is a Sci-fi animation movie partially made with videogame GTA IV and composited in After Effects. Going into more details, Banjamin said that the city sequence was filmed in GTA. Benjamin used a cam control mod to take his shots wherever he wanted to and he also used images (advertisements) that he mixed with the GTA IV shots. It’s really hard to describe your feelings after watching this machinima short film from BinaryOrchestra. First of all, the camera angles and the music tracks that have been used are incredible. SEGA has released a new trailer for Gearbox’s upcoming Aliens game, Aliens: Colonial Marines. This trailer focuses on the game’s story and showcases how badass marines can actually be. It looks cool, though we kind of wonder whether acid will be as deadly as it was in all previous games (especially since there are a lot of QTE in which we can almost taste the acid blood of the aliens). Deep Silver has revealed the first gameplay footage of Dead Island: Riptide. Dead Island: Riptide is powered by Techland’s proprietary engine and is planned for an April 26th release on PC, X360 and PS3. According to Deep Silver’s creator producer, this is a pre-alpha footage and is said that it will not represent the final quality of the product, though we all know that it will look similar to that. Zachariah Scott has released an amazing Source Filmmaker Short movie that is inspired by Portal 2. As Scott describes, this video was shot on black void, using a rebuild version of glados’ chamber that I put together by hand. The video features music from Lars Erik Fjøsne, however we should also give our thumbs up to JP Neufeld for mixing Glados’ voice to Lars song.
