Starflower Games has just released their latest indie platform game that is inspired by some classic platformers such as Super Metroid and Castlevania. The game is available via IndieVania and Desura and will cost you around 5 euros. In addition, the company released a demo for both PC and Mac, so those interested can give it a go first. Few days ago, we informed you about Dungeon Defenders’ 7.03 patch. Well, get ready everyone because Trendy Entertainment and Reverb Publishing released today the game’s next patch. Dungeon Defenders 7.04 fixes a potential losing-mission-unlock issue, assigns the console key from Tilde to F1 and increases maximum number of dropped items on the ground in missions. Wolfire Games released a new video in which David Rosen showcases the changes that have been made to Overgrowth latest alpha version. Overgrowth now features a better enemy AI and enemies can now investigate the sound noices. In addition, David fixed a lot of bugs that plagued Overgrowth, such as occasional crashes, the decals on detail-mapped objects that were not shown and a problem with false positive visiblity checks. EA SPORTS announced today that Rickie Fowler and Rory McIlroy have been selected by the fans to join Tiger Woods on the cover of Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 13 in North America and Europe, respectively. Their victories come on the heels of a three week voting contest that sparked debates amongst golf enthusiasts and campaigning by the world’s top golfers through their personal social media channels. During the final week of voting, Rickie Fowler defeated Bubba Watson by a final margin of 51% to 49% to win the American side of the bracket in the Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 13 Match Play cover vote, while Rory McIlroy defeated Luke Donald by a final margin of 54% to 46% to win the European side. In July, we’ve informed you about some rumors regarding a future PC version of Saber Interactive’s third person game, Inversion. Although Namco didn’t comment on those, it seems that the giant Japanese company has accidentally revealed the PC version of this anticipated game as they’ve included the PC platform on the press release of Inversion’s latest trailer that was released today. Now sure this inclusion could be accidental but the very same thing happened with the PC versions of SFxT and Sonic: Generations – before they were officially announced. Capcom announced that they will be releasing a small patch for Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition on the PC in the next few weeks. This patch will be fixing a bug that affects some of the various lighting effects on characters and the company is currently locking down a release date for this patch. As promised, Nvidia released a new set of drivers that are optimized for DICE’s first person shooter, Battlefield 3. These new ForceWare drivers feature several performance and compatibility enhancements for the final release of the game and are highly recommended. In addition, ForceWare 285.62 include some enhanced profiles for both Batman: Arkham City and RAGE. Now this is how Minecraft should look like and play guys. Yes, Notch’s little gem is awesome but let’s be honest, an engine overhaul is needed and by just watching this fanmade machinima movie, I can only dream that our beloved indie developer will license Crytek’s CryEngine 3 to use it in a sequel, an expansion, an update or whatever. Well, it was to be expected as Football Manager 2011 has always been at the top places of UK’s Top10 PC Retail charts. So it’s only natural to see its 2012 version getting at the first place, right? 3D artist Mark Harrington went ahead and created what could be easily mistaken with a next-generation version of Quake 3: Arena. Mark used Maya ZBrush to create Quake 3: Arena’s character – Orb – and the texturing was all polypainting. After creating the main character, Mark did the UV’s with UV Master and then GoZ’d everything into Maya for rendering.
