Appeal has released the first patch for Outcast – Second Contact. According to the release notes, this patch features a number of CPU usage optimizations that improve performance when multiple characters appear on screen. Moreover, resolves multiple crash fixes, in particular when using Daokas.

Modder ‘VictorCajal’ has released a mod called Brutal Unreal 99. As its title suggests, this mod basically combines the weapons of Unreal Tournament 99 with the enemies and gameplay mechanics of Brutal Doom. And it looks pretty cool.
