  1. i’d really love to understand why every damn year, e3 starts for example on 13th of june, and big conferences start 3 days earlier, what’s the point of this

    1. They’re trying to grab the spotlight before all the lights come on. It’s pretty simple really. Just smart business.

      1. The AMD 480 can’t match a 1080, it even struggles against a 1070. You telling me the Scorpio (without all the AMD cooling) is going to BEAT their current flagship GPU? Really?

Also, a fast GPU on it’s own means nothing. It’s not how computer architecture works. A system with a Kaby Lake CPU and a 1070 will out-perform the Scorpio.

We’re talking gamer PCs here. Forget the casuals on Steam, they don’t count.

Props to MS though, the Scorpio will challenge a 1070 system, so it’s no slouch, so no more p!ss-taking from Sony fanbois. The system, especially for the estimated prices is amazing. But it will never match real PC gaming.

        1. Scorpio
          – 6 TFLOPS
          – 12 GB, 384 bit memory, 326 GB/s
          – DX12 command processor: in hardware (11 gpu tick to “draw call”)

          GTX 1070
          – 6 TFLOPS
          – 8 GB. 256 bit memory, 256 GB/s
          – DX12 command processor: software implementation in driver

Are you really think that GTX 1070 will be faster than Scorpio? Really?

          1. Oh yeah, before they released ALL consoles were PC killers. And PC only got better for gamers (customization, mods, and better games in every way). Speak after the console is matched because I heard all this with the PS4 PRO and now we only hear the “becauses” of why it is far worst.
And PC is only getting better baby. Are you going to buy a new Xbox every year to keep up? Good luck with the “cheaper” option.

          2. WELL MY 970 STILL RUNS EVRYTGING MAXED 1440P EVWN WITH ITS 3.3 TFLOPS AND 3.5 GB VRAM. THAT WHY I HAVENT CHANGED IT YET. THE ONLY REASON FOR SOMEONE WHO HAS A 970 OR SIMIALR CARD TO BUY 1070 IS IF THEY WANT TO RUN 4K MAX SETTINGS INSTEAD OF 1440P MAX SETTINGS IF NOT THEN WHY BUY 1070 OR BETTER? THAT WHY WHEN I BOUGHT NEW MONITOR 1 YEAR AGO I GOT 1440P DELL2P416D INSTEAD OF 4K DUE TO HOW MUCH DEMANDING 4K IS.

          3. I hear so much about the powerful consoles and it is all a lie. I was sold on the Xbox 360 and that piece of $h!t runs Mass Effect 3 between 15 and 20 FPS. And if there’s an explosion? The frames drop to single digits per second. Yet, if you go check all the hype for its birth it is the most powerful gaming platform ever made until that moment. All lies, this will not be different. It’s all hype and NO delivery.

        2. Good post. Problem is, even if it can technically challenge a 1070 system, most of that power is going to be diverted to the 4K pixels that have to be powered, leaving “us” with marginal visual improvements, at best.

      2. MY RYZEN 1700 16 GB DDR4 3200 MHZ GTX 970 G1 GAMING DESTROYS SCORPIO. I ALSO HAVE A 24” 1440P 60 HZ MONITOR IPS WHILE MOST CONSOLE BUT ALSO PC GAMERS STILL PLAY ON ANCIENT 1080P MONITORS BUT I HAVE THIS 1440P MONITOR SINCE JUNE 2016!

  2. Gotta love that video trailer:

    – “All in-game 4K footage”
Given that this is Microsoft with their tendency to wilfully mislead then that could mean Faux K or native 4K. It could be what Phil Spencer refers to as “True 4K” without him ever specifying what he means by that.

    – “Play it on Xbox One”
Er, not in the advertised 4K you won’t… unless upscaled 4K now counts as being 4K in Microsoft’s PR universe.

    – it’s a 30fps video despite YouTube being able to do 60fps videos
Hopefully not indicative of the Forza Motorsport franchise regressing to 30fps on console
