While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2. My results on the same preset:
Score: 4391 (min-27, avg-32.84, max-38.26)
Specs: Core i7 3770K @ 4.5GHz, Zotac GTX 1080 AMP Extreme
It’s weird that you only got ~7 FPS more on average with a highly factory OC’d GTX 1080 and an OC’d Core i7. Is my system running better than it should? Is yours running worse? Or is this benchmark poorly optimized?
I see on youtube, that GTX 1080 Ti Strix with Core i7 4790K on 4GHz got score 5056 with these statistics:
Min: 30.90
Avg: 37.82
Max: 42.95
So only ~5 FPS in avg more then my GTX 1080. That’s less than man would expect, too. So I think it’s the benchmark characteristics.
