In “it makes sense” and “this should have happened already'” rumor mill news, Shenmue and Shenmue II may find their way to the PC this year. You might say “of course that’s going to happen” but then you’ve not been a SEGA fan your entire adult life have you?
In favor of the rumor that we could see a release of Shenmue and Shenmue II on PC this year? The rumor appears to be from a decent source and there’s definitely some hype for Shenmue III, SEGA did some domain registering not too long ago and SEGA teased Shenmue HD in 2016. Going against the rumor? This is SEGA! They sold nearly 1 million copies of Valkyria Chronicles on Steam and we’re still waiting for more ports!

Great its coming to pc love it when gaming series comes to all platform everyone gets to play
Is this Shenmue a good game ? or its just a meme ?
It’s a very ‘interesting’ pioneering title for videogame development that remains highly unique, but hasn’t aged particularly well.
Still worth playing today, but with your historian’s hat on.
It is quantic dream games, before it was a thing. Although with less qtes and more gameplay.
As far as I remember, it was the 1st game where the world felt like a real place. It had so many minor world interactions that by themselves weren’t anything revolutionary, but combined was mindblowing at the time that they could fit so much stuff in a videogame. Things buying a gumball from a gumball machine, or playing games at the arcade, or gambling in alleys, or the many different shopkeeper interactions, having a job driving forklifts down at the docks. Few games today even have this many interactions.
I’d rather have the much better spiritual successor to this on PC, i.e Yakuza.
I would love it if Vanquish was ported to PC. I know it’s made by Platinum, but it’s still a SEGA owned IP. And that game would benefit immensely from mouse and keyboard.
Also port Bayonetta 1 & 2.
Didn’t Platinum say they were making big moves towards porting their games to PC?

Yakuza. Why don’t sega release Yakuza on PC? For all their games being release on PC why isn’t Yakuza also released?
i would like this as well.
Because western area’s are not into Yakuza style games. And Sega fears that sales will not be well because of Western taste in games.
If publishers can dump “anime garbage” on PC these days certainly Yakuza is much better than those so why not release it?
Don’t get me wrong I love jrpg but only upto a certain standard like souls game or in this case Yakuza.
And about the Western taste buddy I don’t think this should be any problem because I don’t know about the past but right now there surely is demand for Yakuza game on PC.
Well yeah many people including myself think so. But Sega apparently does not
Shenmue 2 has loads of long loads in some areas so instant loading (if Jet Set Radio on PC is any indication) would be very welcome.
Day one purchase and I won’t leave the house until there are both completed. Absolute masterpieces and go down in gaming history
I actually enjoyed driving the forklift. People can send me death threats all they want.
Haha same here
Would love to see this on the PC, not emulated. This was a game a dreamcast worth buying.
There were plenty of Dreamcast games “worth buying” other than just the two Shenmue games.
He means buying a console for just 1 game. Shenmue saga was that game/games
Thanks JoNaXKay, that was exactly what i ment. And yes Dreamcast had plenty of games, exclusive ones that were awesome.
yeah it has some decent survival horror games.
hope so. shenmue 1/2 are the best games ever. in the top 10 undisputed for sure. anyone who disagrees is either new to gaming or a pleb.
I’m new to plebing.
“Shenmue and Shenmue II may find their way to the PC this year”
Let’s please not talk as though we’re like console gamers with a locked down OS where the ability to play such games doesn’t exist just because it’s not been officially sanctioned. Both games are already available to play on PC and have been so for years both in their original form and also in modded form.
We want Stranglehold remake or remastered @ UE4!!!
No we dont. That game was your typical midway game, the demo they showed was good, the full game had the parts of the demo that were good, but the rest of the game was meh….just like blacksite area 51.
You dont. We want!!!!!!!! Stranglehold its a great game!
whose we exactly? All 2 people who want this game remastered.
Stranglehold fans hundreds of thousands of people
You went too far after hundreds.
Just do it!!
The only game that deserves a pc release is red dead redemption sadly that will never happen, and are still far from decent emulation of ps3/xbox360
Good, b/c this is the only way that I would ever buy Shenmue 3.
I take it you never played 1 / 2 on Dreamcast.
The Dreamcast was already EOLed and irrelevant by the time I was looking to replace my SNES. I got a Playstation instead.
You missed out lady.
If they dont you can emulate them, valkyria chronicles has sequels if it sold so well they should release them on pc as well.
Shenmue = ZZZZzzzz
Your upvotes.
You’re late.
Why are people excited about some old games getting an HD release?
they’ll probably charge 20$ a piece i reckon
plus if you had a dreamcast you’ed know what’s it like
can’t say i’m impressed or anything
Sega just relies on their old games to sell, which is very depressing for old time sega fans
