3D artist Steven Walther has recreated The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess in Unreal Engine 4. This project took Steven one month to complete, and the only assets that Steven did not create was the base Wolf Link model, the grass (which is from the Kite demo), and the castle. In addition, Steven used the NeoFur plugin for the fur of the wolf. It looks kind of cool, so be sure to check it out!

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2. “And the only assets that Steven did not create was the base Wolf Link model, the grass (which is from the Kite demo), and the castle”
“The only asset”??? – thats like 95% assets from the video/demo
Although this is pretty cool, I do have to wonder what the fascination is for porting (specifically) Nintendo assets into UE4.
That said, why the hack hasn’t anybody attempted a Metroid Prime port yet?
I mainly think they are being done by people wanting to build a portfolio to help get a job.
From a gamer perspective, the first couple of these I tried out were interesting, I think there was a Pokimon and a Mario one I demoed but really they just stand to show how much more goes into making game thank just charecter and setting design. I’m guessing part of it to appeal to those who love Nintendo but are frustrated by thier under powered systems.
“If Nintendo made a console with power again”
