Josh Romito is currently working on the successor to the “Pinnacle of V” mod for Grand Theft Auto V, and has released a new trailer for it. This trailer shows the brand new, 4k, fire, explosion, smoke, particle effect, and debris textures that have been added to this mod. It looks cool, so be sure to watch the trailer after the jump!

People will slaughter me for saying this, but I think GTA 5 is a good example of game that’s worth more that $60. Price parity (more on consoles than pc) is ridiculous when a roster updated NBA game costs the same as a GTA 5 or a Witcher 3. I think that games like this or certain RPGs that are huge and have tons of voice acting take more time and effort to develop than others and that difference should be reflected in price. I mean maybe if CyberPunk 2077 cost $80 while Deer hunter all stars debued at $30 then there would be more incentive to develop in depth games that have the detail and scope to still be played 2 years after release
IMO its worth 59€ for sure, lot’s of games are. But don’t say we need higher prices cuz’ it sound weird. Still you’ll need to remember that Good Games sales well PC/X1/PS4 and devs get their money back 100%.
What we need is good games Developed by talented ppl to show us Pure PC Power and Pure Console games.
To some people it would be worth more, to others less, the main thing to remember is that we cannot force our own personal subjective values on one another.
i agree still i bought it for 40.
In fact id argue that alot of games nowdays pack alot of content. Which makes the price less of a issue. If only just cause 3 had a longer campaign.
I think the worst think in the industry right now is how square enix is handling dlcs and tomb raider. Short game, 60 bucks despite it is old and no ps4 version but when it is out it is still gonna be 60 bucks and then you got endurance mode, a freaking game mode removed from the game for 10 bucks while the last game had multiple mp mods for free. Then you got 1 hour long dlc for 10 bucks and yet another one hour long dlc for 10 bucks. Or just cause 3 having a ton of weapon and vehicles dlc and then a 12 bucks 2 hour dlc.
Still not as bad as batman arkham knight or the saints row series, or sleeping dogs.
Yet gta v packs all the updates for free and keeps on selling.
Maybe it’s just the other games are overpriced. The price should reflect the budget, and the budget should reflect the estimated sales. Since GTA V gave insane profits to T-2, the price is where it should be.
We live in a world where finding a good deal is something of an art, while overpriced things are much more common.
that is true, but have you not seen the way publishers keep abusing the system and the industry? abusive companies won’t change their attitude much even with price tags increased.
the likes of CDPR and Rockstar have their own reason for not abusing it so far. CDPR is still young and wanted to enter the mainstream with Witcher 3 and they still want to strengthen their position so Cyberpunk 2077 is gonna be a quality product as well for sure. not to mention their DRM free store should make them really careful on PC. Rockstar hit the once in a lifetime jackpot with GTA and it’s better not to ruin it so they keep packing their games with quality and only ask for 60 dollars. they know it’s gonna sell for ages as long as it’s good enough. so they have their own interest in mind and you don’t have to feel bad about it.
the problem isn’t one sided though. i don’t expect kids to control themselves against manipulative tactics used by publishers, but what about adults that yearly buy games at any price and pre-order them? they aren’t really helping and many journalists are practically useless cause they are just reflecting things that are beneficial to them. where were all the Witcher articles back when CDPR needed them in 2011? oh that’s right. it wasn’t a mainstream game and many journalists don’t care about quality as much as they care about views.
Completely agree and have said this myself about GTA. Well said sir
Because you’ll keep your potential audience away and maybe even get some mad about it. Instead of spending $80, probably a good chunk of clients will buy it at sales for half the price or less. The potential audience is not small, they definitely get their money back on a good game.
You want to support your favorite game/developer? Buy multiple copies and give them for free. Developers get more money, the game gains more word of mouth spread and if is good, will catch and next iteration will sell better.
Sometimes i feel the same way. I just dont always know what to do in GTA 5 lol.
Other times, i turn on a few cheats and then all hell break lose. 🙂 You can do a ton of things in GTA 5. Most of the fun things ive done are all 100 % random. I didn’t plan them, they just happen. If they didn’t however.. i would find GTA 5 even more boring.
P.s. Ive spend like 100 hours into the game tho.. maybe thats why. Its not exactly new and exciting anymore, but i still find new ways to have fun. Mods alone extend the game quite nicely. 🙂 In a lot of ways.. this is just like Fallout 4.
I regret very much what Rockstar did. They introduced good vehicle physics in GTA IV, but the world was somber, monotonous and small. Everybody waited for a sequel improving those things. So they made it: a game with a big, diverse world, multitude of vehicles… But… those vehicles suddenly became reminiscent of plastic cars dragged across the carpet by a child. Why? Why did they have to botch such a good game by catering to clumsy crybabies well below the age rating of this game that weren’t able to stop holding the throttle button?
I would buy GTA V ASAP if it weren’t for those downgraded car physics for peasants.
The physics were simplified in general because the consoles couldn’t handle GTA IV’s physics with the more highly detailed world of V.
News to me, I always thought they had listened to complaints of people fearing of the concept of momentum (or maybe Trackmania diehard fans who suddenly flooded the game 🙂 ).
Now I have someone else to blame if it’s true…
I agree completely, they also toned down the Euphoria physics but luckily there is a mod that fixes that for PC.
Cool thing to have a mod but shamefully it’s impossible to use in multi.
What’s the name of that mod ?
.. thanks in advance
Hi Marching XII, I think its called E.R.O by MiGGoisT which I assume stands for Euphoria Physics Overhall.
“They introduced good vehicle physics in GTA IV, ”
Nope those were stones on wheels slidding on ice with no brakes.
“I would buy GTA V ASAP if it weren’t for those downgraded car physics for peasants”
like every other game outhere which in this case can be fixed with mods.
Cars were sliding even more than in real life but it surely looked less ridiculous than toy cars in GTA V, not to mention it added gameplay variety because better rides were way more controllable. That said, even the weakest ones could be handled well if you didn’t go full ret4rd on throttle.
And yeah, I can mod it. It will fix only one half of the problem, though, because multi must be vanilla. I will probably also risk a ban if I forget to turn it off before launching multi (I heard many complaints of players about being banned for such stupid reasons).
Way too saturated and the explosions look like crap.
