SAMURAI WARRIORS 4-II – PC System Requirements Revealed, Most Probably Based On The Old-Gen Version

SAMURAI WARRIORS 4-II releases in a couple of hours on Steam and KOEI Tecmo revealed the game’s PC system requirements. And if these PC requirements are anything to go by, we can safely assume that the PC version of SAMURAI WARRIORS 4-II will be based on its old-gen version.

The good news is that this game will – most probably, unless KOEI has f’ed things up – run on a variety of PC configurations. The downside is that its visuals will not match those of the game’s PS4 version (unless KOEI has not enhanced its visuals).

From what we know so far, the PC version *may* feature the same updated 3D models that will be included in the PS4 version. However, the new enhanced textures won’t be featured in the PC version (something indicated by the game’s file size).

Moreover, KOEI Tecmo confirmed that the game will support 1080p resolutions and 60fps on the PC. Amen to that.

  1. I think at this point we can say that Koei Tecmo have a vested long-term interest in PC gaming. It really isn’t at all surprising when they announce or release a game for the PC anymore.

Yet they still take every possible shortcut they can to get games on the platform when all they need to do is take their best console version, port that to PC, and remove any arbitrary locks that prevent the game scaling upwards.

    1. They did that with Bladestorm Nightmare and the game ran horribly to the point of being unplayable on most PCs.

My guess would be that these ports are quickly put together with duct tape and rushed on to Steam, so they’re probably dirt cheap to make and this is why we’re getting so many and they’re all so terrible.

  2. Just went to SteamSpy and it seems like all Koei games sell incredibly bad on PC. Toukiden <10k, One Piece Pirate Warriors 3 <50k Nobunagas Ambition <15k. The only decent selling game is DW8 with <150k after over a year even though DW is their most successful series. I doubt we'll see many Koei games in the future on PC.

    1. I have no interest in playing their games but the least they could do is make a decent PC version that ticks all the boxes of a good PC port to bring in new types of players to their games but they can not even comprehend this simple concept.

    2. Yeah i checked steam spy too, Koei got hit pretty bad by Steams refund policy, a lot of people refunded OPPW3. That game has issues and recieved 0 patch since its release 4 weeks ago.

    3. But if you look it the other way (not by copies) – they are ll barebones ports (possibly very cheap ones) , but they are barely discounted and pretty overpriced with tons of DLCs.
So even those small +- 7k of Toukiden at 60 bucks price – means over 400k bucks in terms of money – which is imo definitely more than they payed for such simple port.

    4. at this point i don’t think anybody cares that much. also 50k is not that bad for warrior games specially the bad ones. DW8 sold around 130k on xbone. Toukiden is around 50k on consoles too and One Piece 3 shipped around 70k on PS4 too (japan only).

      1. Then pc version sales of these games were about as bad as consoles sales. Also DOA5LR according to steam spy has also sold about the same as on consoles.

        1. well yeah, they sell like that, almost all of their games, they make cheap games and they sell them at full price + 100$ of dlc. it’s tecmo/koei/omega in a nuttshell

  3. Core i7 860 to run this? But why?

If you PC only folk are wondering these Japanese games look dated even on PS4 so the PC version is not inferior but just same as the PS4 version in the majority of cases.

  4. I haven’t played Samurai Warriors 4, will I like Samurai Warriors 4-II?
Is there going to be a Samurai Warrior 4-II-2?
