GungHo Online Entertainment America has released the launch screenshots for Grandia II Anniversary Edition. Grandia II Anniversary Edition features numerous improvements from the original including: visual upgrades such as new shadow, lighting, resolution, anti-aliasing and many other graphic improvements, new Japanese voice acting, a new difficulty level, and controller support for a nostalgic experience. Looks like crap and runs like crap.
Not because the game is old, but because the port is sh*t. Getting a 2015 remaster stuck in 4:3 mode and 30 FPS is unnaceptable. They didn’t even bother to put a high-res font in this version.
Looks japan devs find a new house for Jrpgs.
About time, quite a market they have been missing out on, as long as they do a good job for the PC in regards options etc. that is. Will pick this up soon and maybe Tales of Zestiria off Steam.
