Beamdog Confirms That A New Baldur’s Gate Game Is In The Works, First Screenshots Leaked

Beamdog has just confirmed that it’s currently working on a new Baldur’s Gate game. This new game will bring the gap between Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition and Baldur’s Gate II: Enhanced Edition, will be powered by the Infinity Engine, and its first screenshots have already been leaked.

Do note that this new Baldur’s Gate game is not Baldur’s Gate III. Beamdog made it crystal clear that Baldur’s Gate III is not under development.

Beamdog will reveal more about the content and release date of this new Baldur’s Gate game this Spring, so stay tuned for more.

Until then, enjoy the following leaked screenshots!

    1. They pretty much are from 1999…it’s using the Infinity Engine. I think if they wanted to go the isometric route they should’ve looked at what Obsidian is doing with Pillars of Eternity.

    2. It’s just another lazy game with “muh old school stylization”. PC exclusives aren’t the peak of gaming technology anymore.

  1. Huh, I wasn’t aware there was a ‘gap’ between BG1 and BG2… paying full price for mod-level fanfiction, tsk, tsk.

  2. Yep, they do look super dated, yet it doesnt look too horrible. If the game is fun, the gfx come second usually.. but yea. This is still 2015. Lets at least use gfx from 2005 and above please!
