GTA IV Modded & Rendered At 2K Will Blow You Away, Looks Just As Good As Next-Gen Titles

After yesterday’s reveal, PC gamers were a bit disappointed with the visuals of Watch Dogs. Well, good thing we can use SweetFX to improve the game’s graphics the moment it gets out. What? You still don’t believe that SweetFX can significantly improve a game’s visuals? If so, go ahead and take a look at the following GTA IV screens that were rendered at 2K. And while vanilla GTA IV may look awful for today’s standards, GTA IV modded is easily one of the most impressive titles, rivaling even upcoming next-gen titles. Now imagine what the modders will achieve once GTA V releases on our platform. Kudos to Reddit’s users ‘HuntingPandas’ ‘Unreal’ and ‘TokesNoMo’ for capturing these screenshots (the Ferrari shot was rendered at 4K and not 2K)!

  1. Looks as good as current-gen but not better. The current-gen is a good value I must say then.

          1. By the way GTA5 impressed me on what they can do on the PS3 and 360. Just from the graphical standpoint I was suprised that they pulled that off. The water in the game is some of the best i’ve seen on anything. It’s the draw distance and frame rate that was disappointing but they had to cut some things. So much so that when I sniped from a tall building or shot rockets from a tall building I could never kill a pedestrian.

          2. Yeah it’s impressive but the framerates are terrible, there is some 360 vs ps3 comparisons on that but they can’t even do 30fps. Why console games like GTA V don’t look that bad is because people play them far away on small screens. Put that 720p crap on a 24” monitor half a meter away and it’s just horrible. 55” is actually much smaller than a basic monitor viewed from an average distance. A phone game might look amazing, until you play it on a big screen. Same thing here.

  2. It looks great in specific screenshots, post a video that looks as impressive running at a decent framerate on anything but a massively high-end PC.

  3. Please stop calling “next gen” . It becomes very confusing because some people still call 8th gen , “next gen” which is “Current Gen” now .

    1. Next-Gen is 1080p, and some consoles can’t even reach that. PC gaming: 1080p since…since.. well a bloody longtime (:
