Far Cry 3 Project Medusa Will Restore Cut Content From the Alpha and Beta Versions

Modders Scar and MysteryGamerPL are working on a big new mod for Far Cry 3, called Project Medusa. This mod aims to restore content that was cut from the alpha and beta versions. And although there is no ETA for when it will come out, Scar has shared a trailer for it.

Far Cry 3 Project Medusa will restore the visuals, UI, vegetation, materials, textures, and enemies of the alpha and beta versions. It will also have the old player model for Jason, new weapons, various models that were cut from the final version, as well as scripts and sound effects.

All in all, this mod will be ideal for those who wanted to get a taste of the pre-release version of Far Cry 3. And, to give an idea of what players can expect, Scar released the following trailer.

Now I have to be honest here. It’s been a long time since I last played Far Cry 3. So, I can’t really pinpoint the improvements of the mod in the trailer. It would make more sense to release a comparison trailer. At least in my opinion.

Anyway, as I said, we don’t know when this mod will come out. As soon as it does, I’ll be sure to let you know.

In the meantime, you might want to try some other mods for Far Cry 3. For instance, you can download this HD Texture Pack. This pack uses AI tools to overhaul all of the game’s texture files.

Then we have this co-op mod, supporting up to 8 players. This mod features enemies, vehicles, outposts, and the full open-world map for you to explore. However, I don’t think there are any story missions you can complete.

Finally, you can try Far Cry 3 Redux. This is an immersion-focused project that aims to overhaul various aspects of Far Cry 3. Among other things, it disables auto-reload, improves weapon model FOV, slightly rebalances crafting, and improves weapon range and ballistics.

Stay tuned for more!
