Earlier today, Activision revealed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. And now, we have some more details about its PC version. The team responsible for the PC version will be Beenox, and it will add some cool Ray Tracing effects.
According to the devs, the PC version will have Ray Tracing for reflections, ambient occlusion, shadows, and volumetrics. Or at least that’s what I got from the following description.
“For players who want to push visual fidelity, high-end PC options include DLSS 4.5 support, expanded real-time ray tracing across Campaign, Multiplayer, and DMZ, improved performance across ray-traced reflections, ambient occlusion, shadows, and volumetrics, and higher-fidelity VFX and volumetric settings.”
Until we get confirmation of these RT effects, I’d suggest taking all of this with a grain of salt. It’s possible we may end up with only ray-traced reflections and nothing more. The wording does suggest that multiple ray-tracing effects are planned, but I could still be wrong.
The good news is that these Ray Tracing effects will also be available in the Campaign mode. The previous COD game, Black Ops 7, only supported ray-traced reflections for the Multiplayer Mode. So, this is a step in the right direction.
Beenox claimed that it will also add multiple upscaling and frame generation options. As such, it’s almost a given that there will be support for AMD FSR 4.0 and NVIDIA DLSS 4.5. Let’s also hope that we’ll get support for Intel XeSS 2.0.
Activision will release Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 on October 23rd. For what it’s worth, the publisher has not yet revealed the game’s PC requirements. As soon as it does, I’ll be sure to share them with you.
Below, you can find all the PC features that Beenox and Infinity Ward have listed.
Stay tuned for more!
