Crimson Desert new feature-3

Pearl Abyss adds Denuvo to Crimson Desert a week before release

Crimson Desert is one of the most anticipated games of 2026. Pearl Abyss will release the game on March 19th. However, a few hours ago, the team updated its Steam store page, revealing that the game will be using the Denuvo anti-tamper tech.

Crimson Desert is a single-player third-person open-world action-adventure game. According to the devs, it will come with some cool tech features. For instance, it will have realistic water effects thanks to FFT Ocean simulation and Shallow Water simulation. These will enable realistic waves, currents, and ripples. The game will also have Ray Tracing effects.

Crimson Desert will also have Volumetric Fog with fluid simulation, as well as GPU-based cloth and hair simulation. Players will also be able to interact with the vegetation/grass. Plus, there will be some cool wind effects.

In the past few months, I’ve been constantly visiting its Steam store page, and Denuvo wasn’t there. In fact, according to SteamDB, Denuvo was added five hours ago. As you can clearly see.

“5 hours ago · 12 March 2026 – 09:05:05 UTC – Added 3rd-Party DRM – Denuvo Anti-tamper, 5 different PC within a day machine activation limit.”

For what it’s worth, the review copies already have Denuvo. So, our benchmarks – alongside those of Digital Foundry, and every other outlet – will be accurate. This isn’t a case in which the review code does not have Denuvo. I just wanted to let everyone know about this.

As I’ve reported last month, Crimson Desert will be the second game to support AMD FSR Redstone. To be more precise, it will support AMD FSR Redstone Upscaling, ML Frame Generation, and Ray Regeneration.

A couple of days ago, Pearl Abyss shared its final PC requirements. It’s also worth noting that the game will support DLSS 4 with Multi-Frame Gen at launch.

Finally, Pearl Abyss shared the game’s launch trailer, which you can find below.

Our PC Performance Analysis for Crimson Desert will go live once the review embargo gets lifted. So, stay tuned for more!
