Konami has shared the official PC system requirements for Metal Gear Solid 4, which will be included in the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.2. So, let’s see what PC system you’ll need to run it.
PC gamers will at least need an Intel Core i5-9600K with 16GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650. The game will require 35GB of free disk space, and it will use the DX12 API.
Konami recommends using an Intel Core i5-10500 with 16GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970.
Sadly, we don’t know the resolution, framerate, and graphics settings these PC specs target. Still, from what we can see, these are pretty low PC requirements.
My guess is that the recommended PC specs are for gaming at 1080p/60FPS. So, if you want to play at Native 4K with 60FPS, you’ll need a more powerful GPU.
Metal Gear Solid 4 originally launched on the PS3, and until now, the only way for PC players to experience it was through the RPCS3 emulator. Even with the latest version, getting close to 60FPS requires a very powerful PC. As such, this official PC port will be a huge relief for anyone who has been waiting to play the game without dealing with heavy performance issues.
Konami will release Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.2 on August 27th.
Stay tuned for more!
