Fallout New Vegas RTX Remix Temp

Here’s an early look at Fallout: New Vegas with RTX Remix Path Tracing

YouTube’s skurtyyskirts is currently working on an RTX Remix Mod for Fallout: New Vegas. This mod will add real-time Path Tracing to this beloved Fallout game. And, although it’s in a very early development phase, the modder shared a video for it.

Now, as I said, this mod is in a very early dev stage. So, everything you’re about to see is subject to change. This does not represent the quality of the final version. Still, it can give you a small glimpse at what the mod may be able to improve.

For this RTX Remix Mod, the modder is working on brand new textures. These new textures will be ideal for the real-time Path Tracing effects. In other words, this won’t be a simple RTX Remix Runtime Mod.

The RTX Remix footage begins at 2:05. The bar interior looks amazing with RTX Remix. Thanks to it, everything looks better than the original game. However, things get a bit messy once we get outside.

In the open-world area, the RTX Remix version has a completely different art style from the original game. The brown filter is nowhere to be found. In my opinion, the modder should bring it back as it makes the game look really weird without it.

In short, this is a cool early demo of this RTX Remix Mod. As you can see, it still needs a lot of work. So, don’t expect this to come out anytime soon. Realistically, we’re looking at a mod that may come out in 2027. And that’s me being optimistic here.

These past couple of days, we’ve shared a lot of RTX Remix Mods. So, you can find similar mods for Black MesaStar Wars Republic Commando, NFS: Underground, NFS: Underground 2, Star Wars Jedi Outcast, and Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines.

In January 2024, we shared several RTX Remix Mods that are in the works. As such, you can take a look at screenshots and videos for Tomb Raider 2,  Grand Theft Auto: Vice CityManhunt, and Garfield Kart RTX Remix. Then, in February 2024, we shared videos for Need for Speed: Most WantedUnrealTony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4 and Midnight Club 2. Be also sure to check out some early RTX Remix videos and screenshots for Fallout: New VegasTom Clancy’s Splinter CellCOD 2, and Half-Life.

Speaking of Path Tracing Mods for older titles, you might also want to check out the following ones. Modders released demos for their Path Tracing Mods for Deus ExTomb Raider, and Call of Duty 4. Do note that the COD4 Mod is a “proof of concept” demo, and it does not look that great. Let’s also not forget the RTX Remix for COD: WoW. And then we have the RTX Remix Mods for Painkiller and Left 4 Dead 2. Oh, and don’t forget to try this RTX Remix for Unreal Tournament 2004. In September 2024, we also shared a new version of the RTX Remix Mod for Max Payne. Lastly, you can download these amazing Path Tracing Mods for DoomDoom 2Quake, and Serious Sam.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

  1. It looks like the old days of ray tracing in every game, shinny and clean, no shadows, i mean it has shadows but they are meh, game is too bright and clean. New vegas reloaded looks better.

    1. I don't know a ton about RT but I've heard rough materials are more expensive to render since more calculations need to be done to approximate how light actually scatters, at least compared to glossy mirror like surfaces where that isn't the case.
But yeah it does certainly look horrible in the current state.

      1. There's actually a ReShade shader that adds Screen Space Reflections to everything, if people really wanted their games to look this weird. FPS is better than RTX Remix too.

    2. it`s not looking properly but this is very early developement stage so it`s like 1% done 🙂 indoors scene with that machine looks nice

  2. Among the best games ever made, New Vegas might be the ugliest of all.
The total lack of art direction doesn't help either.
So, even RTX, which is overrated, will be a welcome improvement!
