Civilization VI feature 2

Sid Meier’s Civilization VI: Platinum Edition is free on Epic Games Store

2K Games and Firaxis are giving away Sid Meier’s Civilization VI: Platinum Edition for free on the Epic Games Store. Starting today and until July 24th, PC players can visit its EGS page and claim their free copy.

The Platinum Edition features the base game and all the DLCs that came out for it. So, this is the ultimate edition for Civilization VI. If you are a fan of strategy games, you should definitely acquire your free copy.

Civilization VI lets you build and grow your own empire in fun new ways. You can explore the world, take over land, improve your cities, and go up against famous leaders from history. Your goal is to create a powerful civilization that lasts through the ages.

In Civilization VI, each city takes up more than one tile, so you can build it in a way that best fits the land around it. You can also unlock special boosts that help your civilization grow faster. To move ahead quickly, you’ll explore new areas, improve the land, and meet new cultures. As the game goes on, the way you interact with other civilizations changes. At first, things can be rough and full of fighting, but later you can form alliances and make deals.

In Civilization VI, you can now mix support units with other units. For example, you can add anti-tank units to infantry or send a warrior to protect your settlers. You can also combine two of the same units to create a stronger “Corps” unit.

The game has both classic multiplayer and fun new game modes where you can team up or compete with friends. These new modes are designed to be finished in just one sitting.

If you’re new, the game has helpful tutorials to teach you the basics and make it easy to start playing. So, this should be a good entry point for those new to the franchise.

You can go ahead and acquire your free copy from here.

Have fun!

  1. After that EULA change 2k made a little while back you'd be better off pirating their games even if you own a legal copy.

  2. It's been over 20 years since I played a Civilization game (Civ 3 I think) I'll have to give it a try after I upgrade my system next week I've been waiting since March for MS to fix Win 11 but that's not happening so I'm going with Win 10 and a year of extended updates. Hopefully by October 2026 Windows 12 will release and I can completely skip Win 11 like I did Win 8 (I still have nightmares about Win Vista)

      1. LOL about those trash games? They can stay on the Epic fail store as far as I'm concerned. 👍🤣🫵

        1. Visa and Mastercard made them remove a bunch of adult games with specific content, seems like much of it was also AI slop to begin with.

          1. Indeed, I tried to post a comment that included mentions of some of the specific genres of adult content they had to remove but it got deleted/flagged.

  4. https://www.dsogaming.com/mods/need-for-speed-most-wanted-got-two-cool-2025-fan-remasters

Need for Speed fans, here is something for you today. This month, two cool fan remasters surfaced for the 2005 version of Need for Speed: Most Wanted. So, let’s take a look at them.

The first fan remaster comes from YouTube’s DifferentAryya. This fan remaster brings to the game bright skies, vibrant roads, and a better lighting system. It will also overhaul the textures, and it will provide a fresh atmosphere.

You can download this mod from this link. At the end of the article, you can also find a couple of videos. These will give you a pretty good idea of what you can expect from it. I’ve also scanned the mod, and it does not contain any virus or malware.

The other remaster comes from NexusMods’ member Keisirius. This second fan remaster adds dynamic weather and improved rain effects. It also brings greater customization for most cars, and new customization parts such as neon lights, vinyls, and other components. Not only that, but this mod will improve the AI for rivals and police.

And that’s not all. The mod will allow up to 8 participants in quick races. It also brings more traffic with varied colors, as well as more races and sprints in quick mode. Police cars will now explode when heavily damaged. You’ll also find improved police vehicles and new 3D models for some of them.

All in all, this second fan remaster appears to be doing more than just improving the game’s graphics. So, if you want to try it, you can download it from this link. Sadly, though, we don’t have a video to share for it.

So, there you have it. Although EA does not plan to release a remaster for NFS: Most Wanted, PC gamers can actually enjoy not one but two. Yes, these are fan remasters. And honestly, these fan remasters are so well done, they could easily be as good as an official one from EA.

In fact, according to reports, EA has shelved the Need for Speed IP. This means we likely won’t see any new NFS games in the near future. As a result, fans of the series will have to rely on mods like these to enjoy the older NFS titles.

Speaking of Need for Speed, I also recommend trying this RTX Remix Mod for Need for Speed: Underground. This mod adds real-time Path Tracing to this classic NFS game. This is among the best RTX Remix Mods we’ve gotten in the past couple of years. So, if you own a high-end GPU, you should definitely give it a go.
