Here are 34 minutes of gameplay from Blades of Fire

YouTube’s ‘GameRiot’ has shared a video, showcasing 34 minutes of gameplay footage from MercurySteam’s Blades of Fire. This video is from the game’s latest preview build. As such, it will give you a glimpse at what the game looks and plays like.

Blades of Fire is a third-person action-adventure game. According to the devs, players will forge their own weapons and face fierce enemies in a unique combat system.

Players will find Forge Scrolls to develop their forging skills and craft their weapon to suit their fighting style. They will choose between seven different weapon families and over 30 unique Forge Scrolls.

The game’s combat system will allow you to attack specific body parts of the enemy. Thus, you will be able to slash, stab or bludgeon enemies depending on the situation and what the enemy is equipped with.

As I said before, I get major Die by the Sword and Severance vibes from Blades of Fire. That’s a good thing as I really liked those games.

In its current state, Blades of Fire does not feel as polished as you’d expect. Then again, this is a double-A game. So, I guess we shouldn’t expect the polish of a triple-A title. To be honest, I don’t really mind that. All I care about is the experience. So, if Blades of Fire manages to tell an interesting story, then I’ll be fine.

505 Games will release Blades of Fire on May 22nd. Sadly, though, this will be exclusive on Epic Games Store at launch. You can also find its official PC system requirements here.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

  1. Hey John, totally unrelated to this game, but how about an article about the visual mod "Visual Redemption" for Red Dead Redemption 2?
It's not on Nexus, it has its own website, "Razed Mods".

On a side note, another visual mod, "Reality Redemption" for the first RDR has reached v3.0 (almost 4 GB now), and it's really looking great now. Still actively developed. This one is available on Nexus.
