Borderlands 4 releases on September 23rd, gets gameplay trailer

Gearbox has announced that Borderlands 4 will be released on September 23rd. To celebrate this announcement, the team has also shared a gameplay trailer, which you can find below.

Borderlands 4 aims to bring intense action, badass Vault Hunters, and billions of wild and deadly weapons to an all-new planet ruled by a ruthless tyrant. Players will wield powerful Action Skills, customize their build with deep skill trees, and dominate enemies with dynamic movement abilities.

The game will support both solo and co-op modes. In co-op, you can team up with up to three other players.

Finally, Borderlands 4 promises to pack free-form combat and exploration, pulse-pounding boss fights, infinitely varied loot drops, and an eclectic cast of unforgettable characters new and old.

Although it has not been officially confirmed yet, Borderlands 4 is most likely using Unreal Engine 5. Thus, I’m curious to see whether it will take advantage of Lumen and Nanite.

For those wondering, the game will hit Steam at launch. So no, this won’t be locked behind Epic Games Store. Also, Gearbox hasn’t yet shared the game’s PC requirements. Naturally, we’ll be sure to share them once they come out.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

  1. After 3, hmmm…
If the tone is a little less insufferable, as shown in the reveal, it will have a chance.
Anyways, looks like an all-the-gimmicks shooter, and I'm tired of those at this point.

    1. Most likely, if writers like Sam Winkler is there its most likely a fail in the making. Attacking people isn't the way to sell more and instill confidence, if they were good writers they would not get as much critique to begin with…

  2. I think i've realized i just enjoy shooters a lot. this was probably the most exciting thing for me after seeing Jet make his comeback in the sonic game.

  3. Controversies aside, this is the same freaking game since 15 years, for God's sakes…
How can some people even get excited about this boring shooter…

I'm going to recommend you a REAL good game.
I finally played Prey (2017) for the first time last night.
I couldn't stop for like 6 hours straight (until 4 AM), that's how captivating it was.
Enemies are not interesting (I would enjoy this game even without enemies lol), but the Deus Ex-like level design and deep level of world interaction makes it one of the best immersive sims I've played.
