Indiana Jones and the Great Circle gets official PC requirements

MachineGames has revealed the official PC system requirements for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. These PC requirements also include the Full Ray Tracing requirements. So, let’s take a look at them.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will require a GPU that supports hardware Ray Tracing. So, to run the game, you will at least need an Intel Core i7-10700K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 with 16GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER or AMD Radeon RX 6600 or Intel Arc A580. That’s for gaming at 1080p/Low with 60FPS. Moreover, the game will require 120GB of free disk space.

The devs recommend using an Intel Core i7-12700K or AMD Ryzen 7 7700 with 32GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080Ti or AMD Radeon RX 7700XT. With these PC specs, you can expect to run the game at 1440p/High with 60FPS.

For gaming at Native 4K/Ultra with 60FPS, you’ll need an Intel Core i7-13900K or AMD Ryzen 7 7900X with 32GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 or AMD Radeon RX 7900XT.

The PC requirements skyrocket the moment you try to enable Full Ray Tracing, also known as Path Tracing. This shouldn’t come as a surprise as we’re talking about Path Tracing in a modern-day title.

I’ll skip the Minimum and Recommended, and I’ll get straight to the Ultra Path Tracing Requirements. So, to max out the game at 4K, you’ll need Intel Core i7-13900K or AMD Ryzen 7 7900X with 32GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090. And… well… that’s it. In other words, you’ll need the best of the best. Also, this isn’t at Native 4K (duh). That’s with DLSS 3 Performance with Frame Generation, with a framerate target of 60FPS.

Bethesda will release Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on December 9th.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

    1. I am also a big fan of that engine. While these requirements are pretty hefty, having idTech as the backbone should help stability quite a bit. It'll still have its issues but nothing like what has to be experienced with UE5. Game looks solid and I hope they nail it.

    2. Please, the graphics are not nearly as good as they should be for these requirements. This won't be akin to Doom or their Wolfenstein games in terms of optimization, though if they are, then hey, I'll come back to say sorry.

      1. Graphics not nearly as good? We have yet to see it at all running with path tracing enabled. And what we have seen looks pretty good to my eye. A very "stable" look that I would expect from id tech. No weird pop in or graphical issues like many other games these days. And as with any modern game utilizing path tracing, it will require the best available hardware

  1. Doesnt look like the game supports FSR. Hence why no AMD gpus listed under the requirements for full ray tracing. lol

  2. this will flop —> publisher assessment= wasn't woke enough —> make the next game even woker —> flop again —> microshaft pulls the plug on the studio

  3. I find it hilarious that Bethesda/MG refrains from mentioning that this game uses the Vulkan API, most likely because of their Microsoft overlord.

And to think that Xbox fanboys were predicting that idTech would abandon Vulkan in favor of going all-in on the inferior DX12 … LOL!

  4. I for one am excited for this game. I loved the Wallenstein games from MachineGames and I know they do good work (besides the weird misstep of Young Blood, that skipped like two decades of the story for no reason and made it a multiplayer game).

I am going in with lowish expectations and know they will be met. If the game exceeds it, then awesome, if not, well… it's on gamepass and I don't loose out on any money. It's really a win/win.

  5. Mandated meme tracing, what a joke. Way to gatekeep your woke game from the majority of rigs out there.

  6. Either these requirements prove that idtech is not meant for large open levels or machinegames have completely forgotten how to optimize. Visually it looks underwhelming for a game that's being released four years into this generation. The trailers showed some stuttering and performance issues too.

And if you compare benchmarks of Doom Eternal (with and without ray tracing) to similarly spec'd machines, you'll see that this game is at least 3x as heavy. Not looking good.

    1. This one is in an interesting spot because of its two main sponsors:

Microsoft who mandates it doesn't look too bad on its 10GB RAM Xbox Series S compared to the other versions.

On the other hand NVIDIA is the sponsor of the PC version, which is the reason why they added path-tracing.

Therefore, the PC version is not meant to be optimized, it's meant to be a showcase for NV's upcoming Blackwell GPUs.

Nevertheless, I'm pretty sure Valve will get this running decently on the Steam Deck with upcoming optimizations to the open-source Vulkan drivers on Linux.

    2. Doom Eternal utilized RT reflections. A relatively light RT effect. Eternal is also a very linear game with pretty tight combat arenas utilizing last gen console assets. Of course it flies on relatively moderate hardware. Using path tracing (not to mention much higher quality art) is a whole different ball game though. Both in terms of fidelity and horsepower required to run. If they decide to take a similar route with the new Doom it'll require equally beefy hardware. But they will likely limit it to RT reflections similar to Eternal in order to maximize performance

      1. I wouldn't say it's light as it costs about 25-30% on nvidia GPUs, 30-40% on intel GPUs and 40-50% on AMD GPUs. But yes, it is a single RT effect. I remember watching an interview with one of the engine leads at id conducted by digital foundry, and he did say that during developing the RT features they actually did try enabling a bunch of RT effects at once. It slowed the performance down to a crawl so in the end they made the decision to just stick to the RT reflections. I guess now with more powerful hardware (with even more powerful hardware just on the horizon) they decided to go all in. I still don't think it's the right decision as the base visuals still look dated and computer hardware still won't be ready for that level of ray tracing for another few generations.

  7. "Also, this isn’t at Native 4K (duh). That’s with DLSS 3 Performance with Frame Generation, with a framerate target of 60FPS"
it is obvious that this one, is even worse than UE5 games. Goes straight to the trash bin. Lazy a** Dev without any clue about performance/visual balance and optimization. What a dark era, even the best gpus are gonna have problems with average looking games.

  8. Let me get this straight. For "minimum" ray tracing with low settings at 1080p (with DLSS so in reality 540p) you need a 4070 to hit 60FPS?
    lmfao

  9. They left out one word on the end to sum it up perfectly,
Should have been called Indiana Jones and the Great Circle jerk, Go look up what circle jerk means!
This game is DEI infested and the devs in the photo's say it all, I'll pass and leave it for the "modern audience"

  10. "Also, this isn’t at Native 4K (duh). That’s with DLSS 3 Performance with Frame Generation, with a framerate target of 60FPS."

But you need to understand that the changes are huge, should you use a microscope to see that now you have a new reflection at the inside parts of the MC pockets.
RT is a scam solely made for keeping the console peasants playing at 30fps.
    Change my mind.

  11. It's meant to be like this: Nvidia like to force people to upgrade their GPUs.
So after a month or so after release, this game will face poor sales, so that by "magic" devs will make it playable even with GTX cards or AMD 5XXX series, the same thing happened to Alan Wake 2… It's meant to be played by NGreedia

  12. Hopefully there's some scalability between the minimum and Recommended. Its crazy to see an MSRP $700-800 card as the recommended though. It'll be very interesting to see if Intel's B580 being touted as a 1440p card will be able to hold its own with the recommended 3080. Im ready to give it my own try and hopefully it's at least a bit better tuned than Stalker 2.

  13. Game will Bomb, Indiana Jones is a boomer IP. Plus after my awakening, not thrilled killing the good guys….
