Earth Defense Force 6 feature

EARTH DEFENSE FORCE 6 does no longer require an Epic Games account for online play

When it came out, EARTH DEFENSE FORCE 6 required an Epic Games account for online play. This requirement frustrated a lot of PC gamers, something that is reflected in the game’s Steam Reviews. So, great news everyone as SANDLOT has released a patch that removes the Epic Games account requirement.

Thanks to this update, PC gamers won’t longer have to use an Epic Games account to play online missions. Moreover, you can now unlink your EGS and Steam accounts if you want to. You can find details on how to unlink accounts from this link.

And there you have it, everyone. It might have taken a few months but EDF6 is now the way it was meant to be on Steam. So, let’s hope that PC players will now reverse their negative reviews (that were based on that requirement). After all, that’s the right thing to do, right?

EARTH DEFENSE FORCE 6 picks up three years after the events of its predecessor in the year 2027. The survivors continue their efforts to rebuild against the Primers, but threats to the world’s safety remain. The Earth Defense Force (EDF) is once again called upon to protect the planet from the aggressive extraterrestrial invaders.

In this new Earth Defense Force game, you’ll dive into a fresh storyline with your favorite classes like Ranger, Air Raider, Wing Diver, and Fencer. There’s loads of cool stuff waiting for you, like tons of new missions and weapons to try out. Plus, you can team up with a friend for some two-player split-screen action or join forces with up to four players online.

Like always, Steam will download this latest update the next time you launch its client. From what I could see, there isn’t any changelog for it. This means that this small update does not pack any other tweaks, fixes or changes. It just removes the EGS account requirement.

Have fun!

  1. Finally.
Sadly I fear the damage is already done in terms of player numbers.
Same issue with World Brothers 2.

  2. yeah long finished this and the two dlcs from a repack that took out the epig stuff 2 days after it was out lol I'm SP offline only though and the original tenoke rip still had the startup requirement to login to epig even for offline SP, but the repack had an integrated bypass of that. Great game though but they still just drip feeding the 2 dlc add on packs at crazy prices, still haven't even offered the second one for sale yet, but it's all there in the first install.

  3. Jesus, dude, at least try to mask your bitterness over the fact that not everyone is willing to install EGS to play exclusive cargo-cult soulslop like you are. We simply don't need it. Plenty of other valid reasons to leave a negative review, anyway, like the fact that I already played this game in 2016. It was cute at the time.

  4. me and my bro used to play the sh*t out of EDF2027? on X360… this looks identical to that game, 20 years ago….. would love a REAL revision of the template.
