Steam has just set a new record of concurrent players. Earlier today, Valve’s service passed over 38 million concurrent players. Or to be more precise, it hit 38,367,277 concurrent players.
This comes almost a month after Steam’s previous record. So, in just a month, Steam was able to increase its numbers by one million players.
Let’s now take a look at the Top 20 Most Played Games in the last 24 hours.
The most played game right now is Counter-Strike 2, followed by PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS and DOTA 2. Black Myth: Wukong is still doing well. Although it dropped two places, it’s still the fourth most played PC game on Steam. And, let’s not forget that this isn’t a multiplayer game. That’s truly astonishing.
In fifth place, we find Banana. Banana is a free to play title in which you click the Banana to gain even more Bananas. It sounds like a pretty simple game, right? Well, its recent reviews are Mostly Positive, and it has a lot of players.
NARAKA: BLADEPOINT is in sixth place, followed by Apex Legends, Satisfactory and GTA 5. Yes. GTA V is still in the Top 10 Most Played Games. That’s for everyone who still doubts that Rockstar will release GTA6 on PC.
Valve’s Deadlock is in eleventh place. Deadlock has not even been officially revealed yet. And despite that, it had over 150K players in the last 24 hours. So, it’s almost certain that the game will do incredible numbers once it comes out.
Another game that will catch your attention is Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2. Space Marine 2 has managed to surpass games like Call of Duty, Elden Ring and Team Fortress 2.
Finally, Helldivers 2 is not in the Top 20. Instead, the game has fallen to the 26th place. Similarly, Elden Ring is in 21st place, and Team Fortress 2 is in 24th place.
It will be interesting to see when Steam will pass over 39 million concurrent players, or when it will hit 40 million players.
Stay tuned for more!

How is steam "setting a record" when their is no store that can compete. Steam has all the damn games, there is no competition. This is what we call derivative and possibly redundant as well. Who is steam competing with exactly, I would like know this.
The truth is that Steam has a lot of competition unfortunately for them they are too incompetently managed to take away much business from Steam. GOG is the best service next to Steam but even they are in it's shadow with features that the vast majority want.
Besides GOG the other services really only barely get by on their on publisher owned games which they can limit to their own store or in Epic's case pay other publishers to make their games exclusive to EGS.
I'm probably not the target audience, but i don't know which services the other lacks. I'm better off pirating games in the majority of cases tbh.
Well we can't call it competition when GOG can't even get a 1/3 of their games. That's not competition that is a monopoly. The developers and publishers don't want to go DRM-Free that's not gogs fault, they want a monopoly. Imagine if Coca cola was only selling at one gas station and not the rest. Their would be outrage. This is NOT features problem.
Gamers aren't with steam because it has more features. Most people don't even know that steam has it's own voice chat system. People are with steam because they have no other choice in their minds. Because that's where all the games are.
Mainly itself and its own numbers, and they keep going bigger.
Monopolist Steam sells lots of games.
What an achievement….🙄
Not everyone can create a monopoly bundled with an army of non paid shills…
hahahaha poor Epic store and meanwhile remedy still hasn't earned a cent from alan wake 2 LOL now we have to call it epic flop store 👍🤣
Epic is a flop store no doubt but Alan wake 2 was also mediocre game as well.
Having played the free version I can say I enjoyed it. I would have purchased had it been on Steam.
Epic, make piracy great again.
Do you like spending some 6 hour staring at a ugly black woman so much you would buy the game? lol
Get some help.
Pervy old man you are.
You didn't play it.
I'm one of those 38 million, haters gonna hate. But steam is top G
Only some GOG fanboys here and there hate on steam but steam does many things rights. Steam is GOAT store of PC gaming
