According to industry insider, Billbil-kun, The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered will be soon coming to PC. In fact, the PC version of this game has been in the works since 2021, and it’s been ready since November 2023.

Billbil-kun is a trusted source for leaks. Among other things, he leaked in May 2024 that God of War: Ragnarok would be the next PlayStation game to hit the PC. So yeah, we can assume that the next PS game after Ragnarok may be TLOUP2.
The teams behind the PC version of the first TLOUP were Iron Galaxy and Naughty Dog. And, as you all know, it had MAJOR issues when it came out.
I just hope that both Naughty Dog and Iron Galaxy have learned their lesson. I mean, if the PC version has been complete since November 2023, it should release in a pretty polished state. Right? RIGHT?
It should also not come as a surprise that Sony is interested in bringing The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered on PC. The first TLOUP is now the seventh most successful PlayStation game on PC. Although it did not enjoy the success of the Horizon games, it did sell well.
And that is that. There is nothing more to add to this story at this point. I should also note that we won’t be hearing about the PC version of this game for quite a while. Right now, Sony will be focusing on promoting God of War: Ragnarok PC (which comes out on September 19th).

Never got a chance to play this one as I was very anti playstation growing up but have played a few titles more recently thanks to emulators including last of us part 1. With all the controversy about this game I am interested to give it a try myself so that I can form my own opinion of it.

The story is just israeli propaganda disguised as zombie apocalypse. The first game is about some psychopatic doctrine about killing your own hostage to prevent a negotiation, the second is just some IDF apologetics mascaraded as "both sides bad", with some added gay propaganda.
I had heard that was the case when the director said it was inspired by the real world conflict but Im not sure if that was my take away from the first game. My media literacy tool could just have been not working. Which side is supposed to reflect which peoples?

Ellie supposed zombie cure in which she needs to die is reflected on a hostage exchange between a israeli and palestinian citizens. The cure is an israeli military doctrine that israeli hostages need to be killed first so they don’t become a bargaining tool, similar to what they did last year. So when Joey saves Ellie, that means jews suffers as a whole, and in the game context that means Joey killing the scientists. Granted almost no one interpreted it that way because the media serves jewish and israeli interests, so they often don’t pick up on the cues even when the director himself states what this game is about. I think in the second game there was a light criticism of his stance on the “cycle of violence”, but that’s about it.

Then Joel does a collectively bad thing at the end but he’s also the protagonist that we sympathize with. I guess I’m lost at the lesson that Im supposed to take with your additional context beyond sometimes humans do bad things for things selfish love. Is Joel supposed to represent the State?
Joel represents the father of a captured IDF soldier, his lobbying for the release of an israeli hostage (Ellie) instead of letting her die leads to israel becoming weak and destroying itself (which in the game is represented by him killing the Fireflies faction). This is the moral ambiguity that Neil was trying to convey. And militant zionism works in similar fashion, a singular jew can be expendable for a higher cause. One thing i found interesting is that this part of the plot is heavily criticized because is bad science fiction (most people argue you don’t need to kill Ellie to develop a cure) and they are right, but Neil made the virus to be a zionist analogy, but even in this case i think Joel was justified in killing the fictional IDF, because they are psychopaths just like the real life counterparts, and probably the reason he killed him in the sequel (because he failed to create ambiguity).
oh okay that makes more sense. I guess at that point I find it weird that the director/writer would make a story so opposed to his own views with main narrative you sympathize with. I feel like that would be considered bad writing at that point if most people take the opposite or "wrong" message from what is supposed to be seen as the objective good thing.

His probable intention is to let the public (or part of the public) think Ellie should be sacrificed for the cure, but the original game was coauthored by another guy, so it probably was more tailored for people to sympathize with the protagonist. I think in the live action series they tried to "correct" this on some level.

Well I can’t answer that as tlou2 isn’t even out yet lol. The largest fix for cringe in a modern game that I know of would be the Grounded Commonwealth mod for fallout 4, which John REFUSES to ever mention.
