Ghostrunner is free to own on Epic Games Store

505 Games is currently offering for free the first Ghostrunner game on the Epic Games Store. Until April 18th, PC gamers can visit its EGS page and acquire their free copy.

Ghostrunner is a fast-paced first-person game with violent combat and an original setting that blends science fiction with post-apocalyptic themes. The game tells the story of a world that has already ended and its inhabitants who fight to survive.

In Ghostrunner, players will have to climb Dharma Tower, humanity’s last shelter, after a world-ending cataclysm. Players will make their way up from the bottom to the top, confront the tyrannical Keymaster, and take their revenge.

Ghostrunner features one-hit one-kill gameplay mechanics that make combat fast and intense. Players can use their superior mobility to “engage in a never-ending dance with death fearlessly.” It’s a cool concept that made Ghostrunner stand out when it came out in 2020.

You can go ahead and acquire your free copy from this link.

Have fun!

    1. Steam is even worse than Epic.
-Valve’s DRM wrapper is in 90% of games on Steam, Valve actively advises against DRM-free games and encourages developers to use their DRM wrapper
-Denuvo is heavily reliant on Steam’s server sytem (see image below), and Valve cooperates with Denuvo.
-Steam has a forced launcher with literal pop-up ads, which is yet another form of DRM
-Steam forces an online connection after a while. Valve once claimed you can be offline indefinitely when using DRM-free games, if you jump through hoops to set up the Steam launcher a certain way. But many people have shown this is not the case, the laucher will eventually start nagging you for an internet connection to Valve, and will block access to your games.
-no way to block game updates on Steam
-no way to download previous versions of games
-Steam is expensive and has horrible regional pricing

Steam had to be sued because they refused to do refunds. The only reason Steam refunds games is because people literally sued Valve and won in court.

People new to PC gaming seem to have no idea what a **** company Valve is, Valve is just better at disguising how anti-consumer they are nowadays.

Valve, a company that got rich through microtransactions.

          1. I didn’t say Valve pushes developers to use Denuvo. I said Valve pushes developers to use their DRM. You realize Valve develops DRM software themselves right? And yes, they recommend developers use that.

          2. If that was the case than why there are many games on steam that have no DRM at all ? For example postal 2 runs even without steam running, just click on the exe and the game runs without launching steam. Its up to developers/publishers whether they want to use steam DRM or not besides steam DRM is just a joke anyways lol. Copy the game to other PC and the game runs. Even GOG games cannot be launched without the installer adding an entry into the registry first but DRM free on steam is even better than the GOG but despite very few games on steam are totally DRM free.

      1. you should write it in the epic store forum… ah right you can’t LOL , even alan wake 2 wasn’t bootable from epic s-h-*-t store when the servers were down due to the fartnite events so….
ah I also use gog and zoom platform lol

      2. Well, I guess every silver lining has it’s cloud but did you know that the Gaben spends one weekend every month working as a Volunteer Firefighter where he routinely gets kittens down from high in trees that are stuck there and can’t get down and he rescues babies from burning buildings?

Surely you could admire him for such selflessness and bravery.

      3. you should write it in the epic store forum… ah right you can’t LOL , even alan wake 2 wasn’t bootable from epic fail store when the servers were down due to the fartnite events so….
ah I also use gog and zoom platform lol

        1. Do you remember Sweeney 5 years ago when EGS opened boasting that one day his store would rival Steam? What a damn joke. It took the idiots 2 years just to add a shopping cart like every other store on the internet started out with on day one.

        2. Forum is just an avenue for people to vent and sometime you can get something useful like a game fix, but it’s obvious that Steam won’t fix those complaints.

      4. Lmao nice joke man, Valve never forces developers to put DRM in game, as far regional pricing steam has overall best regional pricing and this is coming from me someone who is living in third world country where $60 can provide 10 days meal for the whole family.

        1. You are completely unaware of other stores if you think Steam offers good prices. You’re getting ripped off.

          1. yeah im aware of third party cd keys stores etc but most of the time steam is offering better regional prices to me compared to even cd key stores and GOG also FYI i also have like 50+ games on GOG so im not a fan of one store. Take for example Baldurs gate 3, in my country steam offers BG3 in only $30 without discount and with discount it gets down to $27. Now tell me where else i can get the game cheaper than that ? Pirating ? Their is a reason why steam is soo popular worldwide.

    2. There is always someone who is proud to be a sucker! And the spyware copout is funny in hindsight, it all happened because people where mad Epic offers temporary exclusive games from time to time, it’s just baseless slander.

    3. There’s more spyware on Steam , which is one of the reasons it’s the most bloated. EGS never takes more than 450 mb of ram for me, while Steam can use up to 2gigs of ram all by itself.

  1. I tried Ghostrunner 1, which was also free on Epic Game Store, and it was lame as heck. You’re just jumping like a loon and slashing random enemies, the world is empty and meaningless.

GOG that managed to get 20 new SNK games on PC by working with SNK, most of which exist neither on Steam or Epic, is more interesting news.

      1. Oh I see, I thought it was actually the second one this time. So they’re just rotating free games now. /facepalm

Amazon gives out free games with Prime too, but at least they’re different games each time.

          1. People will complain about anything, even a free game offered a second time, no free deed goes unpunished…

        1. Amazon Prime is not free it is subscription based. Also, nothing wrong with rotating free games, i’ll wait for them to reannounce Ghostwire Tokyo, i miss their last offer.

    1. yeah I grabbed a free version years ago when it first came out and tried it it wasn’t super captivating tbh got the free complete version a few months ago and still have yet to install it as it’s not too compelling but good to have in library I get bored and say wth, etc.

  2. My brother was absolutely right when he suggested that I would like this website. You have no idea how much time I spent looking for this information, but this post made my day.
