As we informed you a couple of days ago, the unofficial PC port of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is playable from start to finish. And, in a truly surprising move, the modding team behind it has released some PC system requirements for it.
According to the PC specs, PC gamers will at least need an Intel Core i7 8700K or an AMD Ryzen 5 2600X with 16GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Super or an AMD Radeon RX 5500. This PC should be able to run the game with 45-60fps at 720p. Do note that there are no graphics settings to tweak.
For gaming at 1080p, you’ll need Intel Core i5 10400F or an AMD Ryzen 5 3600X with 16GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Super or an AMD Radeon RX 6600XT. As for 1440p, the modding team recommends an Intel Core i5 12700F or an AMD Ryzen 7 5700X with 32GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 or an AMD Radeon RX 6800XT.
From what we can see, this unofficial PC port will not require an SSD. However, the team recommends using one. You should also not expect a constant 60fps experience. As we’ve already said, this port needs a lot of work. Thus, there will be drops to 45fps, as well as various stutters.
It will be interesting to see whether the official PC port of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will have identical PC requirements to these. In theory, the official PC port should run better (and it should also support PC upscaling techniques). It will also be more scalable to older PC systems.
Like always, we won’t be sharing any links to this unofficial PC port of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Still, I’m certain that most of you will be able to find it via a simple Google search. Just be extra careful with what you’re downloading though.
