Best PC Games Graphics of 2023

In 2023, we got some visually impressive PC games. The following ones have the best graphics that PC gamers can get on their platforms. PC gamers can use these games to impress their friends. However, we should note that we won’t be focusing on overall optimization here. So, without further ado, here are the best PC game graphics of 2023.

10) RoboCop: Rogue City
RoboCop Rogue City feature

At number 10 we have RoboCop: Rogue City. Powered by Unreal Engine 5, this new RoboCop game offers some truly amazing environments. The reason it’s in tenth place though is due to its 3D characters. While all of them are quite detailed, their facial animations are kind of mediocre. The game also suffers from numerous pop-in issues, despite using Nanite. Then again, this is a double-A game. Thus, and mainly due to UE5, it punches above its weight.

9) Jusant
Jusant feature-2

Jusant is another game powered by Unreal Engine 5 that looks amazing on PC. This game showcases how transformative UE5’s Lumen can be. What’s also great here is that Jusant has a unique art style. Thus, we are pleased with what DON’T NOD has managed to achieve. This is a great-looking PC game, so don’t sleep on it.

8) Dead Space Remake

Dead Space Remake dropped on PC in January 2023, and it blew everyone away with its awesome graphics. Even though it has a few technical issues, there’s no denying that it looks amazing, especially on PC. Powered by the Frostbite Engine, Dead Space Remake comes with high-quality assets. Plus, pretty much all the lights in the game cast shadows. And yes, you can dismember all of your enemies in gruesome ways.

7) The Last of Us Part I
The Last of Us Part I feature 4

The Last of Us Part I came out on PC in April 2023 and it still looks incredible. This was another game that suffered from major technical issues at launch. Despite those issues, though, it looked awesome on a high-end PC system. Naughty Dog has baked some truly amazing GI effects into the game, making its environments look great. Its remastered 3D character models also looked amazing.

6) Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart
Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart feature

And here is another Sony game. Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart is one of the best-looking PC games of 2023. The game takes advantage of numerous Ray Tracing effects, making it look better than its PS5 version. Players can also break a lot of objects, with debris and particles flying all over the screen. Its main cast is also highly detailed. So, kudos to Insomniac and Nixxes.

5) Resident Evil 4 Remake
Resident Evil 4 Remake screenshots-1

Resident Evil 4 Remake is a graphical powerhouse on PC. Although it relies on rasterized techniques, it is easily one of the best-looking games of 2023. The characters are highly detailed, and the environments look stunning. Players can also interact with the game’s bushes and grass. Not only that but Capcom used Hair Strands to further improve Leon’s hair. RE4R showcases the capabilities of the RE Engine. So, if you are a fan of the series, you should definitely check it out.

4) Dead Island 2
Dead Island 2 new screenshots-4

Dead Island 2 is one of the best-looking games on PC as it offers one of the best pre-baked lighting we’ve seen. Yes, the game does not have Ray Tracing or a fully dynamic Time of Day. And, to be honest, that’s one of the reasons why it looks so good. Dead Island 2 looks consistently amazing, with high-resolution textures, highly detailed characters, and an incredible GORE system.

3) Hogwarts Legacy
Hogwarts Legacy feature

When it came out, Hogwarts Legacy gave me some “Assassin’s Creed Unity” vibes. Its pre-baked Global Illumination is among the best I’ve ever seen, and there are a lot of high-resolution textures. Its character 3D models are also among the best I’ve seen. And have started to see a pattern here? Most of our best-looking games either use pre-baked GI or Ray Tracing GI. That’s how important lighting is in modern games.

2) Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora
Avatar Frontiers of Pandora feature

Here’s something unexpected. A Ubisoft game in the second-best place for game graphics? A game from the company that has been constantly downgrading its games? How is this possible? Well, this is all thanks to Massive Entertainment and the Snowdrop Engine. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora looks and runs on PC, pushing some of the best game graphics of 2023. Massive Entertainment has used a custom RTGI solution, similar to UE5’s Lumen. What this means is that even GPUs that do not support Ray Tracing can benefit from it. Not only that, but Avatar has the best forest environments we’ve seen to date. This feels like a new “Crysis” game. Plus, there are some incredible wind physics effects.

1.) Alan Wake 2
Alan Wake 2 4K Screenshots-3

Without a doubt, Alan Wake 2 is the most impressive and best-looking PC game of 2023. Powered by the Northlight Engine, Remedy has implemented Path Tracing to it. Yeap, a modern-day game using Path Tracing. Truth be told, there are some limitations to it (especially regarding its BVH). Despite those limitations, though, Alan Wake 2 is a next-gen game on PC. Everything looks amazing here. The game has some gorgeous environments with amazing lighting effects. And then we have its highly detailed in-game characters. And the incredible physics-based sequences. This game will age well and will still be a looker in 2024.

          1. Blurry!?! Better get your ar*e to Specsavers, pal, or turn off dlss. It’s certainly not a blurry game.

  1. avatar is great but still downgraded .nobody mentions assassins mirrage its so beutiful to my eyes maybe my eyes have problem

  2. Agree with most of these. I’d have bumped Jusant, DS1 remake and TLoU1 remake off the list and replaced them with Talos Principle 2, SW Jedi Survivor and Atomic Heart instead. Ghostrunner 2 and Lies of P also deserve honourable mentions IMO.

    1. I’m actually shocked atomic heart didn’t get a mention. But then again f*k those guys for advertising ray tracing then pulling the plug.

      1. Don’t care too much about ray tracing as the game already looked fantastic without it, but it is strange that they pulled it at the last minute and still haven’t really given us a proper reason for WHY they did it. I don’t think they’ve provided an update on when (or even if) they’ll release an RT patch either.

        1. They had said shortly after launch. So I waited a few months. Nothing happened. A few months ago they mentioned some other big update or DLC or something and mentioned Ray Tracing again. And yet again..nothing. I agree that the game looked beautiful. But I still can’t support their behavior with the total bait and switch with no explanation.

          1. Yeah I get what you mean. FWIW I didn’t buy the game, but I did play and finish it back when I had gamepass.

  3. Alan wo-ake’s path tracing isn’t like the one from cyberpunk 2077 which actually covers most aspects of lighting thus resulting in a night and day difference. Aw2’s path tracing doesn’t look like a significant generational leap like cyberpunk’s does and it has poor accuracy compared to the default non path traced lighting. It doesn’t deserve number 1 spot.

    1. i legit think the original game is better looking, especiall the environments, this game is shadows blurring and vaseline all over the place, plus red, they like the color red, how the fck this abomination got an award for its art style is beyond me.

        1. You’re all damaged. The way you try so hard to label everything woke is pathetic.
How is it race swapping? It’s a new character in new game and news flash: Black female FBI Agents exist.

          1. I think it’s really hard to graft skin on someone who was officially unveiled as a blonde woman and then was revealed as someone who was black

          2. She was an Easter Egg in Quantum Break from 2016. Hardly an official reveal for Alan Wake 2.

          3. Nice goal post moving, unfortunately teasers are still teasers. Keep in mind Sweet Baby Inc. also help assisted with the story, right on the front page of their website.

  4. “Resident Evil 4 Remake is a graphical powerhouse on PC. Although it relies on rasterized techniques, it is easily one of the best-looking games of 2023. The characters are highly detailed, and the environments look stunning. ‘

no, it will run on a toaster because its old technology and the environments suck compared to the original, it has no soul, no mood, no atmosphere, the lighting sucks ,everything looks super dark like re 6 and there is no artistic detail on anything, everything looks generic id rather play the original with hd texture mods and ray tracing.

Also robocop and talos principle h3ll even the interiors in starfield look better than some of these games you listed.

      1. some of us like games that dont look super dark and generic, the original game with mods is better looking in terms of visuals obviously the remake has technically better graphics but thats like saying you gonna swtich to unreal engine 5 so the game runs like sht while barely looking better.

  5. The new area in Phantom Liberty was amazing to look at, similar to dead island and other games it’s sad they use amazing graphics to show the ugliest things possible. Ratchet and Clank RA did look great and was a fun short game to play, should have been 30$ or less. Jusant also ran ok but the controls are terrible, have to try it again sometime. Thankfully I didn’t play most of this tripe and certainly didn’t waste any money on any of it.

I think AW2 being mostly a dark game gets a pass due to that, the daytime levels in sunshine weren’t anything special, the block and half we get access to in bright falls for example. Ran like axx and was just an interactive movie, terrible as a game. 20hrs for 60$ congrats you lickspittles!

Robocop looked amazing IN PLACES, but was a boringaf game besides the shooting gallery levels, and looked pre-2015 graphics in other places. That dev makes the same game just different licensed ips, they can count on fanboys to hype the same game different skin oof. At least I felt like I was actually gaming during the shooting gallery levels, whole game should have just been that and had arcade mode, like COJ Gunslinger.

  6. Unreal Engine can do fancy graphics but doesn’t run well.

Asobo’s Engine and Ubisoft’s Snowdrop can both do fancy graphics and both run extremely well.

Custom engines still beat general purpose engines like Unreal, and likely always will.

  7. Jusant looks nice but I have to think there must be some kind of labored emotional drama in there somewhere.

  8. Thank you I have just been searching for information approximately this topic for a while and yours is the best I have found out so far However what in regards to the bottom line Are you certain concerning the supply

  9. John, you have a nice site, but your taste is crap.

As far as I’m concerned, the real GOTY was Amnesia: The Bunker.

  10. Attractive section of content I just stumbled upon your blog and in accession capital to assert that I get actually enjoyed account your blog posts Anyway I will be subscribing to your augment and even I achievement you access consistently fast

  11. I have been surfing online more than 3 hours today yet I never found any interesting article like yours It is pretty worth enough for me In my opinion if all web owners and bloggers made good content as you did the web will be much more useful than ever before
