Persona 3 – Original vs Remake Early Graphics Comparison

YouTube’s ‘Cycu1’ has shared a comparison video between the original version and the upcoming remake of Persona 3. The gameplay footage that the YouTuber used is based on the latest trailer that Atlus released earlier today.

Persona 3 Reload will be using Unreal Engine and will release in early 2024. Right now, there isn’t any Steam or Epic Games Store page for it. However, and since this is Atlus we’re talking about, we can safely assume that the game will release on Steam.

Now as we can see, Persona 3 Reload looks better than its original version. Still, and surprisingly enough, that original version has a lot of charm. It reminds me of all those JRPGs that came out on PSP. This shouldn’t really surprise me as Persona 3 originally came out on Playstation 2.

Anyway, since I’m a big fan o Japanese voiceovers, I’ve also included below the Japanese trailer for Persona 3 Reload. After all, that’s how I’ll be playing it. And yes, the same goes for all Yakuza/Like A Dragon games. Japanese Dub is the way to go in these titles.

Enjoy!

  1. I have zero interest in these games, but they did quite a good job in remaking that one.
I wish more old games got such a treatment.
Well, we got System Shock recently. Still haven’t played it.

    1. Ehh it’s not that good of a job. Sure, it got an upgrade stylistically but it still is on par with Persona 5, which was a PS3 game. And I’m sure they’ll compromise dialog to suite a “modern” audience, meaning that people are better off playing the original.
It would’ve been nice if they remade the first Persona game instead, then work their way through the rest of the series.
