Here are the official PC system requirements for Forspoken

Square Enix has revealed the official PC system requirements for its upcoming Luminous Engine-powered game, Forspoken. According to the specs, PC gamers will at least need 16GB of RAM and 150GB of free hard-disk space.

For gaming at 720p/30fps, Square Enix suggests using an AMD Ryzen 5 1600 and the Intel Core i7-3770 with an AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT or an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060.

For gaming at 1440p/30fps, you’ll need AMD Ryzen 5 3600 or Intel Core i7-8700K and an AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT or an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070. You’ll also need 24GB of RAM.

As for 2160p/60fps, Square Enix has listed some extremely high requirements. PC gamers will need an NVMe SSD, 32GB of RAM, a high-end CPU and an AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT or an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080.

Forspoken will release on January 24th, and will be using the Denuvo anti-tamper tech. From what we know so far, it will also be the first game to take advantage of DirectStorage on PC.

Stay tuned for our PC Performance Analysis, in which we’ll see for ourselves whether 16GB of RAM are enough for maximizing the game!

  1. Im not surprised by the storage space requirements the demo was 30gb by itself on ps5, but a 3070 for 30fps 1440p is disgusting.

  2. Another game with a detailed but lifeless empty world. Death stranding, Sonic Frontiers, etc. No interest in these games at all, they look like unfinished projects.

      1. Imagine having no life and being a full time hater. Clowning around is a full time job I see. Carry on then lol

  3. 6700XT = 1440 30 fps
    6800XT = 4K 60 fps ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
    That’s doesn’t sound right !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    1. 40% difference between the cards at best for 2.2x the resolution and 2x the frames. Sounds legit. Not to mention the Ryzen 5 5800X, GTX 3070 and GTX 4080. Either someone sleep-deprived and overworked made this or a clueless clown.

  4. Any site giving this game more than 3/10 is going on my ignore list.

“So let me get this straight. I do magic, kill jacked up beasts. Yeah OKAY! That is something I do know!”

  5. Wait a minute, our local Microsoft Xbot kept telling us that DirectStorage would lead to drastically reduced VRAM requirements, because the game could just directly stream the assets from the NVMe SSD to the GPU.

    What happened?

  6. First game to get to the 80 $/Euros milestone on PC.

Man i hope it flops so hard it leads to some Investors suicides.

    1. They’re hoping Kotaku and Polygon will give them some brownie points in reviews.

Then again, if they really wanted Polygon’s vote of confidence, they should have made her a fat black furry lesbian.

  7. I haven’t been following this game at all and didn’t even know it was coming out next week. Anyways, doesn’t really look interesting. The requirements don’t state at what quality settings one can expect to get these frame rates. Also, I’m assuming this will support DLSS/FSR so hopefully frame rates will be better with upscaling.

The only game I’m interested in next week is Dead Space. Steam page doesn’t state 3rd party DRM, so I’m hoping they don’t add Denuvo at the very last minute which will be sad.

  9. If DirectStorage can supposedly transfer data assets stored on the SSD quickly to VRAM at runtime, why does this game need 16/24/32GB of RAM.

I thought DirectStorage was supposed to bypass memory bottlenecks between SSD storage and VRAM, not create new ones.

  10. All that for what? To render all the watermelons and fried chicken the protagonist will carry on inventory?
    Ridiculous!
