Striking Distance Studios has released an 11GB Update for The Callisto Protocol. According to the team, the December 15th Patch packs combat improvements, performance and stability fixes, localization optimizations, and general quality of life changes.
For those wondering, this update does not resolve the game’s CPU optimization issues. As such, owners of high-end PC systems will still encounter performance issues when enabling the game’s Ray Tracing effects.
Without Ray Tracing, the game is perfectly playable right now. Not only that but since the previous update, there aren’t any stuttering issues at all.
To be honest, I don’t expect Striking Distance Studios to resolve these CPU optimization issues. The team will have to overhaul major core engine features, and I don’t believe they are willing to go that extra mile. The easiest solution will be to add DLSS 3. That, or they can wait until FSR 3 comes out. After all, this is an AMD-sponsored game so it would greatly benefit from FSR 3.
Stay tuned for more!

“Not only that but since the previous update, there aren’t any stuttering issues at all.”
Kind of ridiculous to make that claim as there is still some stuttering.
He reported his experience.
If you play the game, the old shaders are cached so no stutter will happen

Waiting anxiously to buy this game on “release” in December 2th, 2023.
A Man of my own heart. Said the same thing. But after reading an article about how they want to punish people for exploiting their game. I realize this developer has the same batsh”t crazy draconian mind set as any publisher it there.
“The Callisto Protocol’ Threatens Penalties Against Players Who “Exploit Errors And Bugs” Or Engage In “Gameplay That Goes Against The Intentions Of How It Is Meant To Be Played”
I wish this site would actually report on gaming news instead of BS unreal engine news, DLSS news or the latest patch.
So stutter fixed, Xbox consoles fixed. Now let’s see if they improve CPU optimization.
God I hope so. As is, I can go into a random room and run around in circles and the fps will fluctuate between upper 40s and mid 80s. It’s wildly inconsistent. Even with G Sync the drops down below 60 are jarring. I only see minor stutters time to time when it’s likely loading a new area in the background
There is absolutely stuttering in the game even now, I just checked 5 minutes ago and I’m at the start so no cached shaders lol.
I only notice any meaningful stutter on the start screen because it’s dealing with shaders then. Game plays “mostly” well now
let’s see it run without denuvo first.
Denuvo finally patched out?
Hilarious how simple your assessment of things lol just use dlss3? ? This is shader compilation stutter. Idiot
After all,
It’s an absolute piece of SH*T of whatever…
DLSS3 wouldn’t help whatsoever. It also won’t require a major engine overhaul to fix. I’m fairly certain it will be fixed because if it’s not the company will die and I don’t think that’s their goal here
