The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim gets a 19GB AI-upscaled 4K Texture Pack

Modder ‘no1messesthe501st’ has released a 4K Texture Pack for the original/legacy version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. As the modder noted, this pack is for those who seek high-resolution textures but want their game to retain its original art style.

no1messesthe501st has upscaled the textures from the official HD DLC and the base game. In order to do so, they used ESRGAN with the 4x-SkyrimTexV2.1 and V2_Fabric models.

Do note that this pack does not feature any normal maps or glow maps.

You can download Skyrim LE 4K-ready Upscaled Textures Overhaul from here. As said, this pack is only for the original/legacy version, and won’t work with the Special/Legendary Edition. For this version, we suggest using the mods that you can find here.

Lastly, you can find below some comparison screenshots and a video that showcases these new textures.

Have fun!

  1. Brilliant. More “AI” smeared trash.

When will this “AI” bulls**t come to an end? There is no “AI” enhancing anything in these garbage texture packs.

    1. Clearly you haven’t played Doom 3 with the Essential HD Pack.

Just because the remaster of the GTA series was a flop that doesn’t mean every other AI upscaled game would be, and Doom 3 is a prime example of that. If done right, it works.

LMAO I have played with it, and I found utterly retarded looking smearing all over the place. Open your eyes, and maybe you’ll see how garbage this method is.

        1. Some minor smearing trump’s low resolution details you can’t even make out. The AI upscale is still an improvement, even if you’re to blind to see that.

I, for one, welcome it, and would prefer it over that transcoding garbage they did with Rage, or some of the so overblown, over-saturated so-called “remasters” you get from major developers.
