This Dead Space PSX Demake in Unity Engine looks retro-amazing

YouTube’s Rustic Games BR has shared a video, showcasing Dead Space as a 32-bit Playstation game. In order to create this demake, the YouTuber used the Unity Engine.

This re-imagined version of Dead Space features fixed camera angles, similar to those of the classic Resident Evil games. And, as you may have guessed, it also has tank controls.

Unfortunately, and contrary to some other PSX demakes we’ve reported on, Rustic Games BR does not plan to release this demake to the public. Still, it’s a cool concept that most RE and DS fans may find interesting.

Speaking of PSX demakes, we also suggest taking a look at the following ones. As we’ve already reported, there is an amazing Bloodborne PSX Demake that you can download. Remedy has also released an amazing PS1 demake trailer of CONTROL that you must watch. There is also a lovely 32-bit demake of The Witcher 3, as well as a PSX Demake trailer for Cyberpunk 2077. And lastly, here are the PSX demakes of Resident Evil Code Veronica and Resident Evil 7.

Enjoy!

  1. This “demake” trend so far has shown that those “modern” soydevs are hardwire to NOT create anything beautiful no matter how talented they are.

    1. They either create a game with nice graphics that still can’t hack it against the big releases, or get people’s attention with gimmicks like demakes and such. Daymare is a good example of indie game, tried to remake RE2, got some fans from the process, then release a game inferior both to original RE2 and Remake.

  2. Indies “demaking” modern games (because they can’t make a good modern game, not even with the outdated X360 graphics) and big companies remaking old games, often with less features than the original except modern graphics. Indeed, you are on to something…

  3. “retro-amazing”

More like Ultra cringe, amirite John? Also, graphics and models looks to sharp to be a PSX demake, Load times are also quite fast. more like a Dreamcast or early PS2 remake.
