Jonathan Coquelet has shared two videos, showcasing Tomb Raider 2’s environments being recreated in Unreal Engine 4. The first video shows Venice, whereas the second video showcases the Maria Doria. These two videos look absolutely amazing, so be sure to check them out.
From what we know, Coquelet does not plan to release these maps to the public. Still, they can give you an idea of what a modern-day remake of Tomb Raider 2 could look like.
Speaking of Tomb Raider 2, we also suggest downloading Tomb Raider The Dagger Of Xian. Tomb Raider The Dagger Of Xian is basically a demo remake of Tomb Raider 2 in Unreal Engine 4. The demo includes a big part of the Great wall level and lasts approximately one hour, and you can download its latest version from here.
It would be cool if Nicobass collaborated with Coquelet in order to add more maps to Tomb Raider The Dagger Of Xian. Unfortunately, and as of now, there aren’t any plans for such a collaboration.
Enjoy the videos and stay tuned for more!

why doesnt square enix remake this game damn it?
do you really want to see lara croft in a burka?
Good point.
They would also most likely tone down her body proportions heavily. In Shadow of the Tomb Raider Lara looked so average. I’m starting to hate this stupid ”realism” BS pushed in nearly every AAA game now.
Unreal Stutter 4
Ahhh! I really enjoy these things!
I usually hate those remakes cos I find it depressing to think we’ll NEVER play them, but I’ve gotta say that Venice level looks really perfect.?
Original feeling isn’t perfectly recreated, but it’s obvious, considering the complete graphics overhaul.
That game needs so much a modern remake, better than “Dagger of Xian”.
I can only dream that someday we will get a full remake of the classics, thank god some talented fans are fixing/modding the classics
Venice has never looked so soulless.
Starting to get convinced that Square Enix despises classic Lara. The big 90’s classics like Resi Evil trilogy, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Final Fantasy 7, and even lesser famous ones like MediEvil, have been remade, but landmark 90’s series like classic Tomb Raider gets actively ignored by it’s IP owner.
