Final Fantasy 7 Remake feature 2

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Mod unlocks dev console, allowing you to unlock framerates

Modder ’emoose’ has released a pretty interesting mod for Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade. As the title suggests, this mod allows you to unlock the game’s dev console. This basically means that you can use various commands while playing the game (and yes, one command is to unlock the framerate).

What’s also interesting here is that this mod allows the game to load loose INI files from its config folder. Therefore, and thanks to this mod, gamers can store their settings in INI files.

In case you did not know, Square Enix locked the game’s INI config files behind PAK files. So, until now, modders had to create PAK files in order to make changes to the game’s configs. However, this all changes now thanks to this mod.

As the modder said:

“FFVIIHook 1.1 now also allows the game to load in loose files, without them needing to be stored in a .PAK, and also allows loose INI files to be loaded from the games config folder.

For example custom CVars can now be stored inside the “Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\Engine.ini” file, just like with other UE4 titles”

You can download this new mod from here. You can also unlock the framerate by using the “t.maxFPS 0” command. Furthermore, we suggest downloading the Dynamic Resolution Scaling Disabler.

Lastly, I’ve tried the DXVK Mod that is currently available on NexusMods. This mod uses a DX11->Vulkan wrapper in order to bypass the shader compilation of the game. However, we had MORE stutters in the Slums area when using this mod. As we’ve already showcased, the game runs great on our PC test system in DX11. Still, and if you have more stutters than what we’re showcasing below, you can at least give it a go.

  1. Modders have been hard at work actively patching up Squeenix’s dogshit release since Day 1. DRS disabler, .ini file extraction, setting file locations, console functionality, color correction, stability improvements and more. Squeenix is the Japanese equivalent of Bugthesda at this point.

    1. I mean she has been for years now, i don’t even know why people expected any diferent to be honest. Nier Automata was broken on a basic level since 2017 it took them 4 years to “fix” basic issues.

    2. Bethesda is something else.
Bethesda games have bugs within the world and are well built for PC.
This, on the other hand, is a game whose world works well but has a flawed PC setting. Even the mouse controls were in the PS4 version.

          1. thanks for trying to help, the mod version is 1.1, i do not understand what do you mean by ” .exe with the _in it”, like i said i extracted the xinput1_3.dll in to the main folder of the game because that is where the game’s .exe is, that is what is saying on the nexusmods page, but i get that message when i run the game

          2. There’s two .exe files with two different locations. One has an underscore to it, the other one doesn’t. The dude who made the mod just commented about this to someone who had the same problem.

          3. thanks!! i did not know that there is another location for the .exe, is working now, thanks for the help

  2. The port is great! (after you download all these third party mods made by the internet to make the game playable) /s

      1. High, using FFVII hook I also turn the dynamic res off, set the frame
imiter to 72 Hz with RTSS (half of my 144Hz freesync monitor, suggested
by DXVK guys but Im not using DXVK mod, just follow their suggestion
regarding to how to set the frame limiter to make it even with my
monitor). except for some custcene that can reach 30-40 Fps, gameplay
never far from that 72 fps I set as limit with no stutter I felt even
when I arrived in Slum Area. Its basically PS4 game, so for 1080p resolution with 1060 wont be that difficult to reach 60 in gameplay

        1. I don’t think you have to halve the framerate anymore. There is a fullscreen command now & I think it works with unlocked framerates (I do have to conduct some tests btw).

  3. It’s a concept hard to grasp, mate. People today are willing to pay for a project of a game, which you’ll have to finish it yourself in order to play?
I must be getting too old for this shlt!
