The Witcher 3 Next-Gen delayed, will now release in Q2 2022

Earlier this week, PEGI rated The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for next-gen platforms. However, it appears that this updated version will not come out soon. CD Projekt RED has issued a new statement, claiming that The Witcher 3 Next-Gen will release in Q2 2022.

CD Projekt RED was initially planning to release The Witcher 3 Next-Gen in the second half of 2021. However, and most likely due to COVID-19 as well as the awful state in which Cyberpunk 2077 launched, this updated version of The Witcher 3 got delayed.

From what we know, The Witcher 3 Next-Gen will feature a range of visual and technical improvements — including ray tracing and faster loading times. These improvements will be present across the base game, both expansions, and all extra content. Furthermore, modder ‘Halk Hogan‘ will be contributing to this new version of The Witcher 3.

Stay tuned for more!

  1. I am more worried that this supposed update will break ALL the Witcher 3 mods, which, to be frank, are way more important than this new edition itself. You can achieve a next gen experience just by installing a few mods.

    1. Download offline installer, backup it and install from it so it won’t be updated. Or you bought it on Steam? LOL

        1. Eh. I wouldn’t worry too much about that. There is a mod that can downgrade the version, back to 1.31 or something. The Witcher 3 modding community is pretty big, i’m sure they’ll do something. I hope so, at least.

        1. But again, you can’t mod console versions… so while you can do that on pc, players on console are just f*cked unless cdpr releases this new version. And it wouldn’t take long for the mod community to find a way to mod this version on pc if it came there as well.

  2. lol wtf are they doing? Still patching cybermess 2077? Been a while since that disaster got a patch.

Anyway this is what happens when you hire westerners to “increase your diversity”

    1. Spoken like a 15 year old living in their parents basement..

Your comments are so nieve and ignorant that I don’t even know how to respond.

  3. Are they like… Umm, making a new game any time soon? Like a new IP? Or should we expect “INSERT GAME Remasters” until 2025?

    1. They’re supposed to be doing Cyberbug Multiplayer … and something open world related to Witcher.
Wont be surprised if its a Witcher 1 Remake using the new RED engine.

  4. Can’t get an outsourced remaster out in 2 years… good one cdpr. Fortunately it gives the player more time to build a proper modded version before the demaster releases and breaks every mod currently out there.

  5. “CDPR Is Hiring 60 Positions For Future ‘Cyberpunk 2077’ Content” reads an article on Forbes. But don’t hold your breath folks – you won’t get the game marketed in 2018 demo.

I think they need to offload patching Cyberjunk and adding some more on-rails stories along with useless loot to some smaller team.

Meanwhile those that have been with the company for quite some time will concentrate on doing either some multiplayer/coop component or next Witcher game.

It’s developer MO these days – if your new project flops then fall back on tried and well-known property and milk that cow dry.

  6. Good.

CP2077 was rushed and paid the price.

Don’t mess this one up too. Nobody is in a hurry to play Witcher 3 on next gen platforms.

  7. Halk Hogan remained silent and didnt update his hdrp mod. Pc users should at least get the updated version first.

  9. It’s funny the next gen cyberpunk is delayed even tho it’s nothing more then the pc version ported to consoles… how in the f### is that delayed? that just verify’s that the game on pc is still unfinished
