It’s been a while since our previous “Mod Corner” article, don’t you think? So, today we’ve got a lot of mods to share for classic games like Doom, Deus Ex, Star Wars, Wolfenstein 3D, and Aliens.
Brutal Wolfenstein: ÜBER HERO Edition is a mod that attempts to bring stuff and features that were in MachineGames’ Wolfenstein games (Wolfenstein: The New Order, The Old Blood, The New Colossus, Youngblood) to Brutal Wolfenstein for Wolfenstein 3D. Its latest version, V0.5.3, came out last month and you can download it from here.
Star Trek: Armada III is a mod for Sins Of A Solar Empire: Rebellion. The mod begins with the first stirrings of the Dominion War and allows players to take command of five unique factions, the United Federation of Planets, the Klingon Empire, the Romulan Star Empire, the Cardassian Union/Dominion Alliance, and the Borg Collective. Players will explore strange new worlds, seek out new life and new civilizations, and boldly go where no one has gone before. You can download its final version from here.
Doom Eternal – 2016 Mod is a mod that makes Doom Eternal feel more like Doom 2016. This mod removes dashing, weakpoints, meathook, flame belch, and blood punch. Moreover, it includes the Doom 2016 weapon sounds, introduces double shots for the Super Shotgun, and has faster weapon swapping. You can download it from here. Kudos to “Latex beat nudity” for bringing this to our attention.
Star Wars Total War is a Star Wars mod for Rome: Total War. An updated demo for it came out last month, and you can download it from here.
Speaking of Star Wars, there is also a total conversion mod for Aliens vs Predator 2 Primal Hunt. This mod changes nearly 5,800 files and overhauls nearly the entire look and feel of the game. You can download it from here.
SWAT – Back To Los Angeles: Close Quarters Battle is a mod for SWAT 4: The Stetchkov Syndicate. This mod takes inspiration from the classic SWAT 3, and you can download its latest version from here.
Unfamiliar is a glossy re-imagining of Ultimate Doom’s maps that uses GZDoom’s special effects to enhance the visual quality of the environments. You can download it from here. Also kudos to “durka durka” for bringing this to our attention.

Aliens: Eradications is a GZDoom MOD using Kontra Kommando’s Aliens: Trilolgy/Ultimate Doom mod as its base. In this mod, you can play as four unique classes against the power of the Xenomorphs, all while battling with Weyland/Yutani Company forces, opportunistic mercenaries, and malfunctioning combat droids. It’s a really cool mod, and you can download its latest version from here.

DOOM: Blood Ops is a megawad for DOOM II, and more specifically, Brutal DOOM. The mod takes place after DOOM 2016 but before DOOM Eternal. You can download its latest version from here.
The Lay D Denton Project is a mod for the classic Deus Ex that adds a female voice to the game. Alongside a female 3D model, all of JC Denton’s 1,700 lines of dialogue have been re-recorded by voice actress Karen Rohan, under the vocal direction of Chris Rohan. This is another cool mod that we highly recommend downloading.
Lastly, DoomFront is a Doom mod for Star Wars Battlefront II. Its first release features two maps, two modes, and 4 classes per side, and you can download it from here.

John is the founder and Editor in Chief at DSOGaming. He is a PC gaming fan and highly supports the modding and indie communities. Before creating DSOGaming, John worked on numerous gaming websites. While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2. John has also written a higher degree thesis on the “The Evolution of PC graphics cards.”

What I like the most when you post about mods is that it makes me discover on Moddb also other mods I never heard about before.
Like “Deux Ex Transcended”, a very extensive unofficial patch which seems to become a must-have to play Deus Ex properly, with vastly improved AI, countless bugs fixed, etc!
And thanks for Unfamiliar Episode III, I didn’t even know about this!
Ugh, I just made myself reinstall it. lol

? I just finished my 2021 Deus Ex run
Then immediately installed Revision. Never tried revision because it breaks lore, but now I have played Deus Ex enough times.
I wish someone would buy the IP off squareEnix, they don’t know what to do with it, and worst eidos don’t know either ?
Ditch Revision, go with GMDX.
That alien mod looks sweet.
I think this is a very nice idea to make this type of mod compilation articles once a week or month.
I’m impressed by the female Denton mod. The voice acting is professional quality and they changed how the NPCs react to you and even altered the text to reflect Denton’s gender.
