Star Citizen Alpha 3.11 Update

Star Citizen Alpha 3.11: High Impact available for download, new teaser trailer for Squadron 42 released

Cloud Imperium released today Star Citizen Alpha 3.11: High Impact. In addition, the team has shared a new teaser trailer for Squadron 42.

The Star Citizen — Alpha 3.11: High Impact update packs three new Origin 100 series starter ships. Additionally, pilots can expect a new element of danger with the removal of Armistice Zones around a selection of existing locations.

“Expect more combat near space stations. Pilots may now be attacked by other players when entering or leaving a variety of space stations. The update also adds security forces and turret systems to maintain law and order in these heavily trafficked hubs as a result.”

In addition to Armistice Zone changes and the new 100 Series of ships, Alpha 3.11: High Impact also introduces new force reactions and high-powered weapons, as well as improvements to planetary art, expanded prison gameplay, and a new inventory UI.

The teaser trailer for Squadron 42 is a brief fly through of the Aciedo Space Station. Set in the Odin system, the Aciedo Space Station is one of the first major locations players will visit.

Lastly, Chris Roberts, Brian Chambers and Director Nick Elms will deliver a video update on Squadron 42 this Saturday.

Enjoy!

    1. Worth scam ever with +600 devs developing two triple-A, SC Alpha packing more features than any single release triple-A by publishers.
30.000 players daily, 1 million backers…. all blind but some naysayers around 🙂

          1. I believe what I play. SC Alpha have just no competitor even in its buggy Alpha state. That’s not about Joe preaching the truth /s but about new backers joining every day, closing 1 million individual in 2020.

            All blind but naysayers 🙂

          2. Yeah. 2015….. With all that money and man power they are making roadmaps for roadmaps…..

        1. woo wooo there 10-15 years??? hmmm i don’t know, did you factor in about 2.5 years for “Roadmap” creation and testing??? 10-15 might be way to early 😀

        1. 30.000 individual players daily + 1 million backers in Alpha. Nothing about Joe… That is reality 🙂

          1. Your definition of reality is the same as the realisitc people’s definition of sheep.get real man.this is a scam.a very big and bad one.

          2. Worst scam ever with +600 devs working hard, enough cash to finish both games and more backers every day. All blind but naysayers 🙂

          3. Stop copy pasting your idiotic answers. It is obvious now that you are a complete moron.

          4. You are spreading bullsh*t and sucking developers balls here and on wccftech. you may be paid by them to suck their balls and back their crappy scam but one thing i am sure of:you are complete MORON.get a life moron.i am not gonna waste my time replying to you and yout copy pasted bullshits any more.SHEEP + MORON=you.LOL.

          5. Shill down bro. Everything is okay. Getting hundreds hours of entertainment for just 45$, for those understanding what Crowdfunded means: pledge to get later a released product, is not bullshit nor a sign of being a moron…. Best $ vs entertainment ratio for backers.

Don’t join any alpha or crowdfunded model? Fine, just don’t and wait till release 🙂

          1. true about reality: 30.000 individual backers playing every day. 1 million individual backers in 2020 and growing at every patch… all for an Alpha not even having all bells and whistles.

      1. I know I’ll get downvoted for this but the hate against this game makes no sense. Most people complaining don’t even own it and have no stake in it other than the endorphin rush they get when some one else that doesn’t know what they’re talking about replies back and agrees with them.

Also, people can say that the project is mismanaged and all that all day…but to call this a SCAM is quite frankly ridiculous. If this is a scam it’s the worst ever. What scam employees hundreds of people that are all actively working on obviously creating a game?? What scam has this many people that have been working in the game industry for years with NO ONE coming out talking about how much of a “scam” it is?

Why is this scam constantly being updated with new stuff all the time on a nearly bi-monthly schedule?

I mean, don’t get me wrong, I’m not massive fan boy…I paid like $45 years ago back when it was still just the hangers you could play in and I’ve certainly gotten my monies worth so this isn’t me “defending” Star Citizen or anything like that. I also agree with the general consensus that at THIS point I think we should certainly have at least something a bit more game and story driven then a more or less open ended world that we have right now.

So the game certainly doesn’t just get a pass from me but that isn’t to say that I still don’t find the same “scam” comments over and over again annoying as hell when it’s been the same arguments for years while thousands of people play the game EVERY DAY and the game is constantly being improved and added to.

I mean, if this is a scam it makes no sense what so ever.

        1. I don’t think it’s a scam but they have raised over 300 million in US dollars and it’s been in Development Hell for way too long. If the crowd funds and ship sales dry up it may never be finished. Chris Roberts has a lot of talent but he should of had someone else managing the Development.

What he wants to do is make a perfect game but there’s just no such thing.

          1. Oh for sure, I don’t disagree at all and pretty much say the same in my comment. Not for a second think things could be a lot better than they are but it’s not a scam and the people that continue saying this are just ignant.

  1. Shhhh… Don’t talk about this scam or else you have to deal with Joe “The Sheep” Blobers. If he listen about this he will appear to defend the scam and say that nobody said that this would be launched in 2017, and the media are evil.
Oh no, too late, he’s already here.
    =(

  2. Release date? 2344
Never ending Tech Demos/New Ship Showcase/Planet Show case….that’s what it all is a nice idea nothing more, but once i does release soooo many dreams/hopes are going to be shattered…

    1. The dream… is played by 30.000 individual backers daily, with quarterly patch adding either contents, features and performance improvement. Total backers number grow from 40K at end of kickstarter up to 1 million in 2020.
Of course all are blind and can’t see the truth from naysayers… because they are too busy playing it 🙂

      1. Awesome…the future of gaming…Pay to be Alpha/Beta tester just awesome…meanwhile SC and SQ42 getting more and more bloated by features….with this way of thinking we can go to infinity and beyond and always play a game that “PROMISES” something new in the “NEXT” update
but as always hope dies last, let;s just hope SC either becomes what they promised (less likely) or the way i see it when i does release it will so with 101 excuses why feature X is not in or why they had to cut content, anyway this is how i feel about this game

        1. This called crowdfunded model and used successfully by 1000’s of other projects.
There is no more new stretch goals since… 2015 and CIG is just delivering them.
Come on, there is no project requiring infinite time, just mandatory development which depend on scope and from where it start. In that case, from scratch to deliver two triple-A based on same engine/features codes.
Tomorrow CR will communicate about SQ42. As a backer my 45$ start package is already well paid in hours of entertainment, in Alpha with even more to come at release

Alpha is not for every one so join later on no problem. That is why CIG do offer several free weeks per year to everyone. There is no better transparency, kudo to them.

          1. You’re an idiot.
And “Hours of entertainment” for $45 ? If you think f*king around in a alpha game full of bugs, people falling through things, physics going nuts, direct to desktop random crashes, lol character bugs, perfectly rendered ice cubes, and other weird sh*t going on, is entertainment then you really are a sad little man.
