Here are the official PC system requirements for The Medium

Bloober Team has revealed the official PC system requirements for The Medium via its Steam store page. The Medium is a tension-fueled, psychological horror game that focuses on a central motif: how your perspective changes your perception.

According to the specs, PC gamers will at least need an Intel Core i5-6600 or an AMD Ryzen 5 2500X with 8GB of RAM. Bloober has also listed the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 and AMD Radeon R9 390X as the minimum required GPUs for gaming at 1080p.

Bloober recommends using an Intel Core i5-9600 or an AMD Ryzen 7 3700X with 16GB of RAM. The team also recommends using an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti or an AMD Radeon RX Vega 56 for gaming at 1080p. For 4K, the team recommends the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 or the AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT.

Now I should note that the previous game from Bloober had some optimization and performance issues on the PC. As we wrote in our PC Performance Analysis, the NVIDIA RTX2080Ti struggled to run Blair Witch at 2560×1440. Therefore, and since The Medium is a next-gen game, its “real” requirements may be higher than those listed below.

Lastly, Bloober released yesterday a new gameplay trailer for The Medium. You can also find the latest screenshots for this horror game here.

    1. Yes! People only say stupid things in those comments! this in a NEXT-GEN ONLY GAME…..Christ!

    1. Intel 6 cores at 4.6ghz beat ryzen 8 cores at 3.6 ghz

Its like how the ps4 8 cores being beaten by a second gen i3

      1. no it makes sense. more and more games in the future will take advantage of 8 cores 16 threads. 6c 6t will be obsolete like 4c 8t

        1. obsolete maybe on pc but consoles are using a downclocked crippled ryzen, a 9600k at stock can get up to 4.6ghz while the console cpu is around 3.6ghz

and when we know intel are still ahead of ryzen in gaming…

        2. You can play most current games in console settings with a 8 threads quadcore…unless you are talking about Ubisoft games mostly.
The example of consoles having more cores and threads has been said, and even with a run of the middle six cores you could beat what a last gen console could do. Keep falling for the…hype? of the next gen.
The only thing that consoles will always have as an “advantage” is optimization..since they are close and unique systems/builds…but even then..your mid tier PC will destroy them just by raw performance..no matter how crappy the ports we get are.

    2. That’s like saying dual cores were not sufficient for a majority of X360/PS3 life cycle because those consoles had 6-7 CPU threads.

    1. C’mon man! GTX 1060 is a 2016 card! The Medium is a next-gen only game
…. Progress advances and with the advent of the new consoles,
the GTX 1070-Vega 56 will become very soon the minimum GPUs to play the
titles of 2021 at 1080p …. and I say: FINALLY!
The ballast of the PS4-Xbox One consoles will finally be eliminated …. and then, if
you want to play on PC, make a decent one … otherwise it doesn’t make
      sense!
If you want to settle for current technology, stay on PS4 and don’t stupidly comment when technology advances!
The PC gaming has been HUGE castrated in this gen … I hope that PS4 and
Xbox One will disappear soon, if we really want to see what our PCs are
      capable of!!!!!

        1. To run period? No.
To run with decent frames and at higher resolutions? Yes.
Honestly 2070 or 5700xt for 4k is actually not that bad all things considered. This is just the beginning too, just wait till you need a fast ssd to properly enjoy a game, it’s coming soon!
50-550mb sata connection is several decades old at this point and I welcome our new m.2 overlords!

  1. That seems about right considering the generational leap and the simultaneous rendering for two scenes being a core gameplay mechanic (honestly kind of curious how they decided to implement that).

  3. Gtx 1060 minimum?seriously?is this game gonna be a looker or a crappy optimized one?looking at blair wicth we can guess which one.

          1. And? having a game rendering two or more different spaces is not new, if you want an example with current year graphics you have another awful “game” like Detroit, that “cinematic” technic is nothing incredible. And if you are talking about having two areas rendered at the same time that you can interchange with pressing a key just look at the mansion mission in Dishonored 2.

      1. Before using the word “stupidly”,make sure your not the stupid one. you don’t know what you are talking about so stupidly.

        1. I know very well what I say …. come back in 1 or 2 years and we’ll see if I said stupid things or not

  4. Not too scalable, if differerence between low to high is 390X / V56. There’s only a 30% performance gap there.

  5. the Medium settings . when the main focus is console development and pcs are an afterthought, the solution is simple> increase the requirements! lazy devs will be even lazier this gen, now that they have a tinny bit more power to play with. expect sh*t grade ports like this left and right

    1. Welcome to the DSOG, where everyone is PCMR but they complain whenever a game requires more than a 10 year old CPU.

  6. Good to see SSD still isn’t a requirement yet. “Ashamed” to admit it but I still don’t own one lol.

  7. Bit weird. The gap between minimum GTX1060 and recommended 1080p 1660Ti isn’t that much. Like 30 percent. Not much flexibility in game settings. You can see the transition to next gen graphic features is starting with these minimums specs. Always a steep rise in requirements.
